If only we had the DRS system for LBW...
Quite a few incorrect decisions against India this test. Oh well, its their own fault.

It's bizarre, because it's not like they're blooding a bunch of youngsters. Australia looked a bit of a mess when we beat them in the winter, but then they'd just lost their best players, Ponting's coming to the end of his career, and they had no spinner worth his salt. India have exactly the same stellar batsmen who got them into that top spot, and yet, bar Dravid, none of them produced. And their bowlers were just woeful. Say what you want about missing Zaheer, but when your most committed player is a (semi) trundler like Praveen Kumar, that's got to reflect pretty poorly on you.Feel sorry for India, completely and utterly been outplayed in all 3 tests so far....they did not look like a number one team in the world with their last 3 displays...shocking stuff from them.

It's 3-0 in a 4 match Test series against India. The next, and last, Test is at the Oval.So thats 3-0 in a 5 match series with India, We beat Sri Lanka 1-0, Australia 3-1 in Oz, and drawing against South Africa in 2009/2010 ?
Think that justifies the word #1 spot
I think they're at the same stage where England where when they got pwnd in the 06–07 Ashes series.
Feel sorry for India
On 3-0 they drop to 2nd. If England win the 4th Test then India drop to 3rd. I think for each Test win in a series the winning team gets points, but for a series win there might be some bonus points and for a clean sweep in a series even more bonus points? Will India drop down into 3rd in the rankings now? think I saw that somewhere.

Yep. I was looking forward to a cracking series between the two best Test nations in the world. It has still been a cracking series but not because of the cricket India have played but the cricket we've played. To think I was so looking forward to this series after the Ashes. When do we play South Africa?
Indeed. I was a bit miffed that the BBC were saying we've won our last six series when I think it sound better to say 8 of the last 9 series have been ours, including the last 6 straight series. A pity the South Africans weren't reading the scriptThat's actually amazing.
Ah cheers, for some reason they've only got the Sri Lanka tour on our fixtures on Cricinfo, but I knew we had a lot more than that.We then spend January and February of next year playing Pakistan in the UAE, away to Sri Lanka in March of 2012, host the Windies in May of 2012, June and July 2012 sees the return of our whipping boys, sorry Australia, for 5 ODI games.
We have to wait until July for South Africa to visit us for 3 Tests, 5 ODIs and 3 T20s (between July and September 2012) before we can really dominate Test cricket.
No probs. There's that Future Tours Programme I think the ICC set up. In a certain period of time, measure in 8 years or something, each Test playing nation has to play all the other Test playing nations with a minimum of two Tests in each series for the series to count towards the Test rankings. I guess series of 2-3 Tests are for weaker sides and 4-5 for the bigger series with Australia probably guaranteed 5 Tests because of the spectacle.Ah cheers, for some reason they've only got the Sri Lanka tour on our fixtures on Cricinfo, but I knew we had a lot more than that.
I only hope the packed nature of all the fixtures doesn't catch up to us.
