England V India ***Clash of the Heavyweights*** Test, T20 and ODI Series

Sky making a big deal about the field placings to KP, why is there a fielder right behind the bowler? they keep asking.
I agree, no-one's been caught there for over 100 years..

That's what we've done all series really.

Our strength in depth just means that when we lose some big wickets someone else steps up to the crease (literally :p) and India don't look to have the bowling attack to take 10 of our wickets for a low score.

The did it once, Broady proved his worth that game however and poor India couldn't get a break at all.

This is not the India that I know. This is not the India that got to number 1 in the test rankings.

They've lacked fight all series. I know there have been injury problems but I can't see how that can explain the depths of their performance

What do you think has happened to them, TC? How are they playing so badly?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the India that got to number one in the test series the one that played loads of tests at home and beat Bangladesh 3 times with the only credible results being draws against SA?

Pretty sure I read something along those lines.

I can't see it being anything other than what I've said all series. They simply haven't put the effort in, I don't know why, but everything from their pre tour preparation to their on field energy tells me they're not trying.

Also I've just seen Sreesanth's figures. That explains the score.

Sort of. They also drew away in Sri Lanka which in the circumstances was a great result. For England now at number 1, the biggest challenge for them is to perform in the sub continent.
