England V India ***Clash of the Heavyweights*** Test, T20 and ODI Series

I say don't go for a result, we have already won the series nothing to prove lets try and break some records. We are already world #1 so lets bat through for as many as the 5 days as we can and see if we can set a record score. 953 would put us top of the list, could we do it?

I personally would do the same, but i doubt Eng will.

3-0 or 4-0 makes no difference a series win is a series win. Being world number one is assured so it would be nice to have a record or two. If we did bat through and get somewhere near 953 then there would be a record partnership or two and someone might even get near to Laras 400

That would boring. I've got tickets for Sunday and would hate to see England batting like nerds just to break a few records.

I think it's good that they're trying to whitewash India, it will knock India down to number 3 in the rankings, where they will go and sulk for a few series.

Australia next for you guys isn't it? (or very soon at least).
Aussies must be licking their lips at the prospect of playing you guys at the moment.
Although the further away from IPL time it is, the better chance you have of your players being fit and dedicated to the cause.

They've lacked fight all series. I know there have been injury problems but I can't see how that can explain the depths of their performance

What do you think has happened to them, TC? How are they playing so badly?

Rather than India 'playing badly' , would it not be fair to give England some credit for not letting them play their normal sub continent grinding game by being superior in every department and outplaying them totally ?

Their test ranking was flawed to begin with for reasons already mentioned and they have been found out by a vastly superior team.

Really, what I want more than anything, is for the fitness of Indian players to be managed. Most players have looked out of it at some point or another on this tour, and the bad preparation has cost them dearly.

It's possible for SA to overtake us in the number 1 spot in their next two series though. A 4-0 win means they'd have to win all five tests, whereas a 3-0 means they can draw one or two, I think.

England certainly deserve credit for an series of impressive individual and team efforts. We've shown resolve and character when it's mattered and we've bowled, batted and fielded excellently. However I think we've also been up against a team that's lacked consistency in the field, bowled like they don't care and batted foolishly. That's not what I expected from India.

Minor set back, will soon be sorted once we wallop them later on ;)

Tempting fate, when was the last time Eng had two double hundred's in a single innings? :p

Please Dhoni, no more excuses. Don't tell me that the team is trying, and that nothing has worked. Don't tell me that the team actually puts effort in. Just admit that the team's been lazy, apologise to the fans, and promise that in the future, the Indian team will make an effort!
