Englands World Cup Failure

Well I think you're wrong, he is more adaptable (can actually play on the wing unlike Gerrard) is a better tackler, is better at keeping the ball and has scored more goals in less games. :)

Gerrard established himself as a defensive minded midfielder, went on to play as a box to box player where he's scored as many as 21 goals in a season from there, scored 23 goals the season he played RM, 24 the season before last when he played off Torres. On top of that there was a huge debate at the start of his career that he was a better RB than midfielder (he's probably still England best RB).

Schweinsteiger's never scored more than 12 goals in a season for Bayern despite playing in a weaker league.

Nobody has said he's a bad player but he's not close to being as good as Gerrard or Lampard.

Same ****, different manager.

Mr Cappello, has done nothing other then talk a good game and cost the F.A. lots of money.

Exactly. We need a manager who will give people a try,try different formations. And(now this one is a radical plan) actually play people in positions where they be of some use!

I agree, and disagree.

I'd take Schweinsteiger over Lampard.

I don't know about Gerrard :) I feel he's a better player then Lampard.

I would also add Ramos, Alonso, Senna , Casillas and Reina on to that, but then I am biased :)

World class?

I believe Senna doesn't play for the national team anymore?

If you're adding Alonso into the mix then I'd add Gerrard and Lampard in for England. It's scary how Spain have got the best 2 goalkeepers in the world. Ramos world class? Not for me.

Buttons will not be pushed. :o

Although you could compare Lampard and Gerrard by their previous seasons? 29 goals to Gerrard's 9 or so? More assists too. (17 for Lampard, 7 for Gerrard) Lampard was the top scoring midfielder (beating a lot of strikers) and had the most amount of assists in the whole league.

Anyway, they are both exceptional players. I believe Lampard to be the more effective player but not by much. (Obviously an opinion many people are going to disagree with)

Yup I would consider them all world class. :) (admittedly though it depends how you define world class in comparison to say European class or south American class or national class)

So with Lampard we're talking about his potential international ability? at Age 32?

Don't be funny, you know what he meant :p

We all know how well Lampard is capable of playing. He's just come of the back of possibly his best ever season, unfortunately for 1 reason or another he hasn't produced it for England.

That doesn't mean he's a bad player and I'm sure there isn't a Chelsea fan in the country that would swap Lampard for Schweinsteiger.

Interestingly as a Liverpool fan, at this point I would willingly swap Gerrard for Schweinsteiger though :)

Don't understand why you're being so pedantic tonight. I'm referring to the world cup that took place in 2010, the game that was played today.

How he can perform if he plays to his full potential.

Gustov :)

Whats your kinda World eleven at the moment?

Stick to a 4 3 3 or a 4 4 2 please :)

World 11?

Difficult to be honest, depends who you're playing against. Rough one would be...

Casillias

A.Cole
Lucio
L.King (if he wasn't a cripple)
Maicon

Ronaldo
Essien
Iniesta
Messi

Rooney
Villa

Taking into account I put hardly any thought in to that.

For a player next season or a longterm swap? Obviously the fact that Gerrard is 30 years old you'd be looking for a long term replacement but if I was picking a player to win me a game tomorrow, I'd take Gerrard over him every time.
