English, CL & Europa League Football [12th - 18th Mar 2010] **spoilers**

See Boatengs poke in Bendtner's eye then nearly break Sagna's life on Saturday, he's not that type of player though obv!

Violent conduct, should be a 3 match ban, Bendtner got a yellow for it

In Rugby it's been known that players get a years ban for that. Suppose they're not big men either? =/

I thought he should have being sent off for the Bender poke.

I also thought that player that dived in to that tackle against the Arsenal player (name escapes me) just before the ref booked the Bender and his poker should have being sent off.

:p

The one on Sagna was another horror challenge, I watched the Man City game yesterday and it was filthy too. This league survives right on the edge of physicality/brutality

OMG HE POKED HIM IN THE EYE

LOL i dont know why he poked him in the eye...its not like Bender needs the help as he has a hard enough time finding the goal without his eyes being poked out:p:D

And before anyone starts having a pop at me about Bender...it was a joke..

Plus was relieved to see Sagna walk away relatively unscathed from that terrible tackle...all hell would have broken loose if his leg had snapped :/

HAHA YES WELL FUNNY! I LIKE THIS JOKE!

I LIKES IT MOAR!!!!111!!!!

Its funny how Utd fans especially think its perfectly fine for players to make dirty tackles on players especially moreso when its Arsenal players.

How id love to see Rooney get his leg snapped with a tackle...then see how the Utd fans on here react.

They'd be fine. It's part of the game.

What annoys me is that Arsenal fans aren't allowed to comment on bad tackles without some immature Man Utd/Stoke fan making a stupid comment. I'm guessing he hasn't even seen the Sagna challenge as if he had he'd probably agree.

p.s. It's not cool to wish injury on Rooney, he's a fantastic player and the league is better with him in it!

Some Arsenal fans really are developing a massive case of victim complex. Time for a prescription of reality, doses available at your GP's discretion. :p

If I were a fan of any club and the same tackles were made I'd have an identical view. Cana for Sunderland, Shawcross for Stoke and Boateng for Hull in the space of a month, all potentially terrible injuries, you could call Arsenal lucky that only one ended up bad, but it certainly doesn't feel like luck, just feels like a matter of time before another horrible long term injury. It's really hard to take, it's a game, it's really not worth getting your leg broke over

Edit- Said before, hate any horrible challenges on any player and I know that they happen in every game (not just to Arsenal), I only comment on the Arsenal ones as I watch Arsenal! Is it that strange that I comment on things to do with Arsenal more than other clubs?! I'm not trying to be a victim, just commenting on the big talking points for the club I follow :)

I can see that. But we've seen tackles like that every week against our own players and thankfully it doesn't result in a major injury. Look at the Everton v Liverpool game, Mascherano was lucky he didn't suffer a leg break with Pienaar kicking him.

Ronaldo was booted up and down the pitch during his time at Old Trafford, no sympathy from rival fans. I do think players take it too far, but that Shawcross was 50/50, no malice, just an incredibly horrible outcome. Bringing up past tackles when he was younger is pointless. I can remember Gerrard flying in two footed when he was younger, Essien too. These tackles will always happen, it's part of football. It's a side nobody likes to see, and it's even worse when a player is carried off as a result of it.

Not as bothered about the Shawcross one to be fair. The Boateng one was much worse as he did it on purpose and only wanted to injure Sagna, who is one of the nicest players in the team and had nothing to do with the earlier argument.

p.s. Ronaldo was destroyed last night by some rubbish Spanish team, they kicked him every time he had possession. Really, really sad to see.

That sums up your manager just perfectly.

This fergie time is funny, because he shares it with every other manager in the league. He's a very kind man. And yes all referees are incompetent, something nearly all of us say every time we see a football match these days. The difference is that managers get fined for saying it.
