English & CL Football [6th - 10th Mar 2010] **spoilers**

Is it? Rooney's been doing it for years without punishment and countless other players do it on a weekly basis without punishment.

then he should be punished for it as well. All this respect bull**** this season and they're just going to let him get away with this? If that had been a foreign player it would have been a ban, you expect better from a so-called captain.

AC Milan are still a decent team (no disrespect meant but compare them to Real or Porto currently for instance, even Bayern in some respects), Im just glad we got our revenge for a few years ago + a bit more, the -0 was very satisfying, Vidic and Rio were supreme

Everyone played really well, surpprised with how good Nani was, Valencia has stopped surprising me because Ive been saying on here all season he is pure class both offensively and defensively and tonight was no different. Park again did excellently and glad he got his goal , well deserved

Anyone still doubt Rooney can beat Ronaldo's 42 in one season as Ive been saying for a few weeks? 11 games or more to go and 12+ goals, not easy by any means but with his form Rooney can do it easily imo (given a continued run to CL final esp)

I was surprised at Neville's selection I really thought he would be done over and over for pace, but it was master tactics (or a lot of luck lol) by Fergie - even though some of the 1st half chances he had to cross where criminally wasted, I dont argue he deserved the shot at goal which narrowly missed though.

They let everyone else get away with it so why single out Gerrard?

Well you've got to admit that there is a slight difference between vocal outbursts (which aren't necessarily directed at the ref and aren't heard by the fans and are pretty much speculation) and having pictures plastered over the back pages of the Liverpool captain and England Vice captain doing that gesture to the ref. How you can get carded for an over enthusiastic celebration but not get given ANYTHING for that is just a joke.

LOL no that honour belongs to Utd;)...hopefully tonight they will get beat which will make my week even better...Beckham to get a hattrick and then throw his show at Fergies ugly mug:p:D

Write Arsenal off at your peril...we are hitting good form at the moment in both the EPL and CL...

Hadnt read this til just now :D

:/

Arsenal have a ridiculous amount of potential scorers, Diaby, Fabregas, Bender, Arshavin, Rosicky, Nasri, Walcott all chip in with goals weekly. I've seen some stats which say that the goals are spread throughout the team more so than any other team.

Seems an odd thing to say coming from a Man Utd fan, no offence, but Rooney can't do everything either

Also last night was a sparkling performance without Gallas, Fabregas or RvP. It shows that Arsenal do have a fantastic squad. imo there was no difference in the performance with or without Fabregas, Nasri and Rosicky made up for his absence

1stly I agree Man Utd's goals do come through Rooney majority of the time, but we arent expecting him to do everything - he is scoring more because he is playing consistantly upfront with people assisting a lot more than previously. A little different from core of Arsenal's midfield "risking" going further forward and leaving an open midfield on a counter attack

Last night is a bit of a one off - Porto where pretty awful, surely you can see that most of the top 10 EPL teams could have thrashed them last night? Arsenal have looked weak at the back for majority of the season, even though Vermalen (sp?) has been terrific, you look likely to concede (in EPL) nearly every game

Not much in it, but still think you have much better chance (even though its remote even given remaining games) in EPL than you ever have in the CL :)

Funny thing is, when ronaldo left people were wondering where the goals were going to come from, no matter who leaves united, people who dont support united will allways conjure something up to hate :)

i just agree, it soon shuts people up :p

don't forget when Ruud left before that as well.

Simply ridiculous Rooney's goal scoring form at the moment, shame that the top award will no doubt go to someone totally undeserving for simply being part of the squad that eventually wins this summers world cup because had this season come at any other time I would think it would be impossible for Fifa to give it to anyone other than Rooney

Ronaldo (albeit has had injuries) & Messi haven't been a patch on Rooney this season

Oh and Park was brilliant AGAIN tonight! ;)

when beckham left, we would aparantly never find someone to replace, and then hello ronaldo, we could keep going on and on, the bottom line is i couldnt care less if rooney gets every single one of our goals, if we didnt have rooney im 120% positive we would have someone else, playing different tactics and we would score from elsewhere, at big clubs world class players arise, and it shall continue.

People have said this everytime a "big" name has left Manchester United.

Time and time again, Fergie has built a new team with new players and wins things.
