English Football [1st - 5th May 2010] **spoilers**

Well done spurs!

Now just don't do an everton :D

Can't see them taking 3rd with fulham losing at home to stoke and the europa cup final a few days later

We don't want Bellamy! Nice to see he still fights with his team mates.

Its not exactly a bad thing, in the biggest game of the year he's having a go at Adebayor for being a complete and utter lazy selfish pratt. Adebayor put in no effort at all, he was back to his classic jumping NEAR where a long ball was going, but refusing to actually jump next to a player or actually trying to win the ball. Its his lazy attempt to appear to be trying.

I'd take someone who gets mad at a player who is cruising through such an important game, than the guy who clearly doesn't give a crap about the result.

Can't believe he took Bellamy off and not Adebayor, Bellamy was the only creativity in midfield that made any decent attacks and Tevez just got even deeper looking for the ball after he went off.

Bellamy's a no neck angry little welsh git, but you'd be mad to not want his pace, ability, drive and all out effort in every single last game in your team.

Real Madrid game on if anyones interested, pretty much need this win to keep the title race on, 2-1 to Real at the moment, back from 1-0 down.

Also looks like we should have been watching Motherwell vs Hib's, 6-6 and can't quite tell, looks like Motherwell came back from 6-2 down to draw.

EDIT:- I've been worried about Arsenal not even finishing 3rd for the past 2 weeks. Since Wenger decided it was a great idea to drop our inform striker, and play a weakened team against Blackburn BEFORE we've secured 3rd, fantastic move. Had we played out best side against Blackburn we'd have got a point, or maybe won.

Full credit to Spurs. I don't think anybody gave them a chance a few weeks back with the run-in they had.

It's only half the job done though, they won't be seeded for the play-off game so hopefully they don't blow it like Everton did.

But he seems to fight in a lot of games, sometimes just because he isn't given the ball.
He wouldn't get a place in our midfield thought to be honest. We have the keep Palacios, Jenas, Bentley, Kranjcar, etc on the bench because of how many decent midfielders we have. I think 3/4 of those named would walk into a lot of teams in the prem, minus the big 4 (and Liverpool :p).

If they can avoid Barca, Inter and Real until the knock-out stages then i see no reason why they can't fight for CL. If they do encounter any of them then they would have to build up on goals at home as they have great fans and good team spirit which would enable them to beat most teams.

But the other alternative would have been Man City. Surely if we don't have a chance, they definitely don't?

IF CIty got 4th though, the team they have now WOULDN'T be the team that started their first Champs league game, where I can't see any dramatic changes happening in the Spurs team and certainly no 30-70million players coming in, let alone several world class players.

I don't see why Spurs can't do well, but there was a great letter on footie 365. After a long season of harder games, assuming you get to the group stage, you'll have a painfully early start to the season, after a lot of your players are playing in the world cup so a very late finish to the season aswell.

Then you've got lots of traveling, more games than last season, more tough games after a long weekend trip to somewhere in Europe with a not dramatically improved squad.

Likewise, an established team in the CL can buy more players to help cover more games, but look what happened to Leeds, they bought all the extra players but dropped out, and suddenly had a hugely higher wage bill than the league alone could cover, thats why other teams like Everton haven't overspent after getting European football. Realistically it would be premature for Spurs to increase the size of the squad by 2-3 players on high wages of high quality with big transfer fee's, when you could well be out of the CL again next season, at which point wages, losses and big problems could show up.

CL football isn't always a good thing, its ruined/hurt a lot of teams.

Also, truly great goal by Ronaldo just now, at least 2nd of the match, not sure who scored the 2nd goal.

EDIT:- Yup, scored all 3, first hattrick for Real and 2nd in his career, Real without Ronaldo would suck so badly, but then Barca without Messi would be massively worse aswell.

Stoke can be dirty when they want to be! Ah well run out and some extra minutes for those mostly playing in the final. Hate to think of the lineup against arsenal though. Shame to see Nevland play his last game at the cottage :(. Also possible calf injury to Duff. Uh oh.

Yay, nothing major I know but, just won a sneaky tenner :D
