English League & European Football [27th Mar - 1st Apr 2010] **spoilers**

He still needs surgery on his ankle and that's been on hold since the beginning of last season. Second half today was much better than the first, still a lot of needless giving the ball away, Neville being the main culprit. 4-0 scoreline a bit flattering, it suggests the game was more comfortable than it was. Really glad to be back on top, improve our goal difference by 4 and go into the Munich game on the back of a hard fought win. I hope Evra's shin doesn't swell to the size of a balloon tonight. We need him for Munich.

No idea how we won that 4-0, don't think we had a shot on target for the first hour! Great play by Nani for the last two, where are all the posters that said he'd never make it as a United player?

Credit to Berbatov as well, two chances two goals pretty much, difficult role to play for him.

From what I remember he was also in and out of niggling injuries for the whole of the season also though?

He's had a couple of knee injuries I think - but I don't think he's missed much... could be wrong.

We've had O'Shea out since January haven't we?

United's injury list:

Gary Neville - groin

Nemanja Vidic - flu

Rio Ferdinand - calf

Jonny Evans - calf

John O'Shea - thigh

Rafael da Silva- injury

Fabio da Silva- groin

Edwin van der Sar - knee

Wes Brown - limped off

Owen Hargreaves - knees

That was all at one point, December.

I'm still out on Nani... he has moments of brilliant and moments of madness to be honest.

He's had more good moments than bad recently though... especially since Rooney went into him at half time the other week.

He still needs to cut out some of the tricks and play it simple and his crosses are shocking sometimes.

As long as Arsenal don't win it I'm happy. I know it could be deemed an excuse but Chelsea's injuries are horrific at the moment.

Essien
A.Cole
Carvalho
Bosingwa
Ivanovic

I know other teams have injuries and united have had Vidic and Ferdinand out almost all season but Chelsea currently have 1 first team defender fit. (Terry) Considering Chelsea are built on their defense I can't see us winning the league.

Zhirkov vs Valencia should be an interesting battle next week.

Ferreira vs Nani on the other hand, oh my....

Horrific?!?! 5 players? I think we had 12 out at one point earlier on this season and several other teams have had over 5 players out for large portions of the season. Hell, right now we have 4 players out off the top of my head.

Posted just before you listing all the ones we had out at one point :p

He's not alone there, tonight our crossing was terrible, Neville in particular but Fletcher did some really poor ones as well. I think part of it is how weak we are in the air though, we rarely score from corners and other than Rooney lately we have pretty much nothing to aim at.

So, as it stands today I think Arsenal are in last chance saloon now, still very much in it but can't really afford to drop any more points considering their goal difference. unless of course the united chelsea game ends in a draw. Big wins for both United and Chelsea but it'll mean nothing if they don't get a result next saturday.

I still think Berba is a fantastic player, we just don't play him right half of the time...

this, no one can deny he has some incredible skill. We just use him wrong so much (although even then he can surprise such as by getting 2 goals despite being played on his own)

Go find the transfer thread where they signed him, Manu fans exploding with joy and how they would play 3 upfront.

It now makes a hilarious read.

LOL, even more funny thing is that Saha has scored 3 or 4 less goals than him I think...:D :D

Not all fans. Some fans were saying when the rumours started flying around about how he would not fit into the side, how he didnt score enough goals, how he didnt have the pace, and how he lacked the work ethic and commitment to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world.
It took some people longer than others to see it.
Some people are not swayed by one good match in ten, even ferguson doesnt trust him enough to play him in the big games now, although it took him long enough to see it, just like its taken him long enough to see that Nani needs games and not dropping for two and three months at a time to get the best of him.
He still doesnt see that he is entirely right footed though, give him long enough though......

Berb is lazy, end of. He needs like, constant world class service to be of any effect.

Doesn't run does he! :p

and some fans are still stuck posting on an internet forum rather than having a job as a well paid football manager despite having a better idea of how the Manchester United team should be run the Sir Alex and all his medals. it's all swings and roundabouts,

Yesterday showed what Chelsea are capable of when it clicks, it just doesn't click often.
Not sure if that's down to a lack of desire or poor tactics but if they play like that next week it'll be an awesome game.
Malouda made me eat my words again :)
SFL passed Osgood's goal tally too

I think Chelsea have had a shocker with injuries too this season:

Cech
Hilario
A. Cole
Bosingwa
Ivanovic
Terry
Alex
Zhirkov
Carvalho
Essien
Mikel
Belleti
Ballack
Deco
J. Cole
Kalou
Drogba
Anelka

Have all been out, I think Lamps missed one or two with a bit of a cold as well.
That's not the reason why we're out of the CL and 2nd in the PL though.
