English League & European Football [27th Mar - 1st Apr 2010] **spoilers**

Dazza, with regards to spending money, remind me how much you've spent on the likes of Milner, Downing, Ashley Young, Heskey, Warnock, Delph and Dunne?

Chelsea really haven't purchased many players in the last 2 years. The only ones that come to mind that cost a substantial amount of money are Zhirkov and Malouda.

Those players COMBINED cost.. £45m? £45m for 7 players, 6 of which are first-team regulars is a lot of money for a Premier League side is it? Zhirkov and Malouda cost you £29m for the 2.

The difference being that Villa can only afford to send £10m+ on players who will break into the first team (almost) instantly and make an impact.

While Chelsea can fritter away millions on players that will only be fringe players for most of the season.

The players you've mentioned generally don't cost more than £12m or so, and weren't all bought in the same season - Heskey for example only cost Villa £3.5m :p

I don't understand your point though. We all know Chelsea have cash and aren't afraid to spend it when necessary. When people ask me what team I support I find it pretty embarrassing to say Chelsea. I'm not proud of the way Chelsea have 'bought' success.

But then again, I get increasingly fed up of hearing about how we are only successful because of our influx of cash. Whilst, that might be true, that's not the fans fault. I've supported Chelsea when they were a 'mid table team' as a lot of people like to put it.

I don't buy this idea that chelsea spend excessive amounts on 'fringe players'. Have you seen our bench recently?

# 2 Turnbull,
# 43 Bruma,
# 52 Van Aanholt,
# 13 Ballack,
# 21 Kalou,
# 23 Sturridge

But as you say, it's still true.

My Dad has supported Chelsea since the early 90's but even he admits that they've bought success.

Nobody's claiming that you're a glory supporter :)

Not a great result for Arsenal but a draw at Birmingham given their record at home is not that bad a result, sucks how it happened though =[

Next weekend Gustov will decide the title. I hope Lampard doesn't travel with the squad. :p

As long as Arsenal don't win it I'm happy. I know it could be deemed an excuse but Chelsea's injuries are horrific at the moment.

Essien
A.Cole
Carvalho
Bosingwa
Ivanovic

I know other teams have injuries and united have had Vidic and Ferdinand out almost all season but Chelsea currently have 1 first team defender fit. (Terry) Considering Chelsea are built on their defense I can't see us winning the league.

Zhirkov vs Valencia should be an interesting battle next week.

Ferreira vs Nani on the other hand, oh my....

Yep, we most definitely have, but genuine question, what do you expect me to do?

I'm not going to change who I support. I can hold my hands up and admit it but I still get 'you just bought success' after every cup we win.

You are in the same position that we were earlier in the season with regards to injuries, just different timing. We had horrific injuries also.

We only had Evra.

Nobody is suggesting that you should

It's just banter like you'd expect... Chelsea buy the titles, you'll never get a penalty at Old Trafford... Liverpool should stick to stealing stereos la dee da...

Gustov no one is calling you a glory hunter. I've had to put up with being called a glory hunter from friends and people I've worked with despite supporting Man Utd since I was a kid, first memory being back in 1987. Just ignore it because as long a team is successful and popular the tag will always follow their fans and used by rival fans to wind you up. Don't let it. :)

Evans has come on leaps and bounds in the last two seasons mind, not saying he's in Vidic/Ferdinand's league but he's a decent replacement for us mind.

From what I remember he was also in and out of niggling injuries for the whole of the season also though?
