English League & European Football [2nd Apr - 8th Apr 2010] **spoilers**

Ref = italian, germans = divers/know how to make challenges look far worse = cards
The rolling around and play acting is still rife in spanish italian and german football they really need to start doing something about it.
If not then we should do as they do and dive and roll around and surround refs to get players booked in europe.

The more I see that, the more angry I am, he doesn't pull him back, he holds his arm then lets go, Ribery then throws an arm in his face and asks for him to be sent off. *****.

Rafael is daft for falling for it, but he was the one fouled for his first card, and then Ribery pulls that trick for the second..

People shouldn't make ridiculous statements then... they should expect the flak if they do.

It is not ridiculous to forsee a win when you are 3-0 up at home and Bayern have not looked too dangerous, nice try though.

Thought we started really well tonight and played well up until the end of the first half. Bayern got the late goal in the first half which obviously gave them great confidence but so long as we held on for the first 10 mins of the second half i could see us getting another goal. Of course Rafael then gets himself sent off (personally i don't think it should have been, yes it is technically a second yellow but 8/10 refs won't give that yellow in the same situation) and we immediately plummet while Bayerns confidence goes through the roof :(

Carrick gets a special mention for a truly awful game (although im not his biggest fan) but apart from that i thought everyone was playing well up until the sending off. Nani with some excellent play, just wish he would play that week in week out.

the first yellow was stupid but that second one was absolutely nothing. Teh ref has simply listened to the cheating Bayern players surrounding him and getting him sent off. If that was two yellows then Van Bommel should have been off in the first half.

lol, it was a foul, he stopped him from running at goal, just let the player run.

Well once again we've been done by a dire referee. He sends Rafael off for a slight shirt tug (notice that Ribery then pushes him straight away and gets nothing) and then THREE Bayern players tell the ref to send him off. That man should never referee again as he clearly does not know how to stay unbiased. I counted Bayern catching us very late in challenges over ten times in the match and the ref just did nothing, two dives in the second half, nothing.

This to be honest. It was a refereeing performance up with the one from the Chelsea-Barca game last year.

99 times out of 100 Robben's volley doesn't go in and we go through, but hey-ho.

Then why wasn't Van Bommel sent off for two (actually three) fouls? His one on Rafael was ten times worse than a bit of shirt tugging. The ref has obviously been influenced by the players surrounding him waving their imaginary cards.

van Gaal obviously has deeper pockets than Fergie then? :p :p

Van Bommel is a man. Rafael is built like a 12 year old boy. You're confusing superior strength with fouling.

It's going to be a very 1 sided final whoever makes it. Bayern aren't very good and had it not been for 2 silly challenges by Rafael then Utd would have cruised through tonight.

Looking back over the two legs, I think we lost it for ourselves. Sure, the free kick was unlucky but we should have put this away in Munich and not conceded with a stupid loss of concentration.

And then tonight, we spend 40 minutes taking them to the cleaners, concede again (stupidly), Rafael goes off at the start of the second half and what do we do? Shut up shop and invite them onto us.

We really asked for that, and we served the tie up to Bayern on a plate. Overall I thought the Germans were pretty average, they had very good ball retention but apart from that, did quite little.

Heh all man u fans talking about eufa cup being micky mouse cup now haha. At this rate you will only end up with League cup to polish at end of season....that's a might achievement isn't it

To be fair to them it is a mickey mouse cup these days. Especially when they let teams knocked out of the main one drop into the 2nd tier cup. Why not let Manu in it now they have been knocked out. That would make it equally as pointless as letting teams in that can't get through the group stage.

Much better when it was just a cup winners cup.

It's a trophy teams like Spurs, Fulham and Everton would love to win and it would mean a great deal to them. For a top 4 club though it's a mickey mouse cup.

I suspect he will be heavily fined and suspended for those comments.

And LOL at Man Utd suckers. Was definately a Red Card. His inexperienced was very visible. Idiot. Haha.

The EPL IS ON BITCHES!!!!! Arsenal to snatch it. ;)

I never said it wasn't  but it was never a second yellow. Couple that with Carrick's second yellow in the Milan match and the two penalties that weren't in the group stage and the standard of refereeing has made the League look flawless.
