English League & European Football [2nd Apr - 8th Apr 2010] **spoilers**

but he could have tried, it's the fact that he didn't. And he hasn't tried to go for something at any point in the big matches this season (I thought the starting lineup might have changed that) If Berbatov wasn't going to do it then why not try Macheda? Anything has to be better than nothing and what exactly did we have to lose?

He brought Berbatov on a few minutes after you went behind and what did you have to lose before that? A place in the semi final.

When you're down to 10 men, the most likely source of attack would have been hitting them on the break and although he's not a striker, Nani's far better suited to doing that than Berbatov.

I'm better suited to doing that than ****ing Berbatov.

Rafael's always been and always will be crap, had Ribery in his pocket? Not likely, Bayern, much like the first leg, didn't get started for 30 minutes. Bayern are a team that really barely ever break on a side, they were always playing very slowly, I don't think there was a single pass infront of Ribery for him to run on to in almost the whole first half, it was constantly short passes into Ribery with his back to goal and no where to go. Same with Robben first half, they don't play the overlap at all well, the left back for Bayern, well I'm surprised to see he's a footballer, one of the worst performances I've seen for a while and it has nothing to do with Valencia being good.

Even when Valencia wasn't around, he was terrible, terrible touch, passing, movement, running, decisions. Lahm wasn't any better and Robben/Ribery really didn't play the overlap type play with their fullbacks more than a couple times throughout.

You'll always have a problem with Rafael because he's a cheat, he dove under incredibly minimal contact, acted like a petulant child and kicked out at a player and got his first yellow. ON a yellow he commited a cynical pull back, most ref's would give a yellow for that, even if he hadn't gotten it then, its his game. Defensively he's always chasing and every game he plays he commits cynical foul after foul as normally he's caught up the pitch when he shouldn't be.

Got irked by the "these foreign teams always asking for cards" crap, because United players did it several times throughout the game aswell, as do almost all teams.

Ribery simply had a much better game with much better passing into his runs throughout the first game, Neville with zero pace did exceptionally well to hold him up most of the time. He also provided 4-5 world class crosses on top of a few stinkers, like all players do.

Bayern were pretty poor tonight overall, but grew into the game and as they did Utd had little response like last week aswell. Lyon should thrash them silly to be honest.

Didnt Rooney have a hand in all 3? I know he did the first with a lay off....

The mere fact that Fergie played him when he clearly wasnt fit goes to show that they needed him there tonight to help them through.

Once he was gone who did you have up there to aim for in the middle? NO ONE.

Nani and Valencia are alright yeah but the midfield is weak carrick/fletcher dont rate them so much dont see what all the hype about fletcher was/is how ive seen UTD fans say the CL final would have been different with him thats just fans clutching at straws.

The lay off was his only contribution. I wonder if some of you were watching the same game! Rooney did bugger all apart from be there.

Carrick is way off the boil this season but Fletcher I thought had a decent game, doing everything that was expected of him. The ball he played through for Rafael's chance was spot on. He's never going to control the match but that's not his job- he unsettled the Bayern midfield and kept the tempo of the game up.

no, we'd already lost that when we just let them play. We were NEVER going to play out 30 mins just letting them play without them scoring, it was suicide.

Oh my god you're a **************************************************************************************************************************

Man U fans moaning about players trying to influence the ref? Jesus.:o

I can understand people being frustated, but c'mon, Man U players have been doing this for many a year now and much worse than most teams.

O and come on attacking the ankle, it was a bloody tackle get over it, it wasnt even his ankle was half way up his leg it just happened to be on Rooney then you get all this "OMG THOSE EVIL *******" bs.

Yup, that had me laughing, commentator asking if he meant to go for his ankle, no the ball was right there, he tried to get round and tap it away, he made Rooney trip a little but didn't actually get his ankle, if he wanted to get his ankle, from behind, he WOULD have, he didn't get his ankle at all.

As for cheating and yellow card waving, Fletcher did it, as did a couple others later in the game, and Valencia was caught trying to get a player a card. HE went down with essentially no contact, roled around but the camera caught him as he turned his head, clearly not in distress, checking if the yellow card was out, the second he saw it he was up and getting ready.

Every single time I've seen Rafael play, I've said he's looked in danger of getting sent off, he's constantly late into tackles, caught out of position and petulant, he kicks out at players every game and mouths off to the ref after every decision that doesnt' go for him, aswell as his obvious dive before he kicked out to stop Bommel getting away. You play a player like that, and it costs you, you shouldn't be surprised.

Carrick should be shot for being a wimp aswell, turning away just incase he gets a ball in the nads, if he stays standing and see's where the ball is going, that first goal is EASILY blocked, he dived out of the way basically, can't stand players who jump and turn as they block, gives them no chance to react and get a block in.

Visionary still talking **** again I see.

Oh well, see you all in a few months time, I've just remembered why I don't bother on any more.

You're not going to find me defending Fergie very often but I honestly didn't think there was much more he could have done.

Prior to the goal you had 2 decent chances to score which both came about from Nani running in behind Bayern's defence, something that wouldn't have happend had Berbatov been on.

I agree that you can't just totally sit off and hope to not concede but I didn't think Utd did that and a couple of times where you did try and press higher up the pitch (Valencia closing down the keeper to name 1), Bayern immediately had chances to break down your flanks.

Someone needs to post the vid of Keane, Neville hounding the ref at OT some years ago

Why don't you find the ones of Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea hell any other team you care to mention doing it.

Did they break out the imaginary cards in that video Andrew? Or are you just on the wind up again because you have nothing better to do?

Well you have really surpassed yourself in talking utter *****. He is 19 years old and has made 30 or 40 appearances (some as sub). So to say always has and always will be crap is an outrageous exaggeration to say the least.

Also not sure if you have seen much of the Bundesliga but Bayern actually have made it to the top of the table playing a fast counter attacking game rather than the slow build up game as you incorrectly assert

Can I post the Keown and Arsneal hounding Ruud :D

Saying Andrew lmao you sad ****

You lost on AGG, you cant score 3 at home then lose and start blaming the ref.

Drunkenmaster, you have to be one of the most clueless people around. Do you think you are the Barca manager or something? Jeez.
