English League & European Football [2nd Apr - 8th Apr 2010] **spoilers**

Just seen the Drogba 'goal' again. How can the linesman who is looking straight down the line, not see that two Chelsea players are both yards off side?? Probably the same way they couldn't see Cole's dive, Drogba being offside and fouling Brown at Stamford Bridge though.

I said I don't think it was a handball, bearing in mind, it would only be visible on a replay, probably not to the linesman or referee.

A player being CLEARLY 2 yards offside is what I have a problem with.

But as I said already, we didn't really deserve to win, but perhaps deserved a draw.

United were second best until parts of the second half, they weren't good enough.

Fergie got it wrong.

Don't harp on about bad decisions when you have one go for you, I'd agree if you said the ref didn't have the best of games.

Good win for Chelsea, Really bad result for United, not many games left now.

Doesnt really matter though because of the Macheda 'goal'.

If you take an advantage from a handball its a foul which he clearly did, he scored from it.

Chelsea had a penalty denied so should have been 2-0 anyway, overall UTD look tired and played woeful didnt really deserve a great deal from the game so fair result I say.

O and to point out, the goal UTD did score was bundled INTO the goal, it wasnt as if they had any decent full on chances for most of the game did they I mean the goal was pretty lucky overall so its not as if they were head and shoulders above and deserved to win.

Fergie did get it wrong pretty much, yeah.

It was technically a handball looking again at the later replays, although it would have been harsh to give it. Especially after the hugely blatant offside, I cannot fathom how the linesman didn't give that, he had a more than perfect view.

Shouldn't have sold Ronaldo  /whine :p

Can I just bring up one point about dissing people because they complain about managers decisions.
These are NOT highly qualified highly intelligent people who have risen through the ranks of a mentally demanding industry, they are (mostly) people who have made a very good living at being good at football on the pitch, and are a bit brighter than than the others when they retire and make their way into management.
Every single one of the members of this board, has more about them than the average football manager.
It just shows you that the only managers I can say without doubt are very smart, Wenger and Maureen are also the ones who have hardly (or never) kicked a ball in anger.

Why?

Because it was a decision against United?

Doesnt really matter though because of the Macheda 'goal'.

I didn't say it wasn't, doesn't change what happened at Stamford Bridge and it doesn't change how utterly obvious Drogba's goal was. Even with a replay Macheda's barely brushes his arm, a far more difficult one to call. Two of the most important games of the season and the officiating has been abysmal, pretty much sums up the standard this season.

Drogba's goal was offside yes, but from watching the replays of marcheda's goal it definitely looks like he steered the ball in with his hand so I think they cancel each other out. Add in the stonewall penalty we should have had and I don't think man u fans can complain too much.

Chelsea dominated the first half, man u the second. Was pretty disappointed the way we sat back after the break but it did seem like man u were just lacking in creativity. Fantastic result for us. :)

Well its not like Utd havent had their fair share of bad decisions go their way. No complaints when it happens the other way.

If someone had to lose it was better that Utd did. Gives Arsenal a slim chance to catch up ;)

Although I am sure they will blow it against wolves later lol

Don't see much point in moaning about decisions. Even in victory the feeling that we're a few players short of a complete team never really goes, defeats like this only serve to hit that point home a little harder.

The officials were shocking, but we're simply not good enough to make that not matter. And it goes both ways anyway, how a penalty wasn't given for Neville's 'challenge' on Anelka I'll never know, doesn't get any more blatent than that.
