English League Football [30th Jan - 3rd Feb 2010] **spoilers**

Yes, Denilson is poor and is constantly at fault for goals conceded. Shouldn't play in this midfield, he lets the team down.

Overall a relatively even game, except Man Utd got their chances on target and all of Arsenals went a few yards wide. Meh, got to expect that when the club doesn't have a proper striker.

No Baz, going by your previous comment there is always something you can do, ie, a keeper gets chipped, he should have been on the line, etc etc.

Are you telling me Torres' lovely goal against Blackburn last season shouldn't have happened if the defender got between Torres and the ball? Or was it just a moment of brilliance like Nani's today? :p

You're just nitpicking :p

There's a huge difference between being over criticial or saying 'if Almunia was 10 foot tall he could have caught it' etc and plain bad defending.

Like I said, your 2nd goal was an excellent goal but if you want to be over critical of Arsenal you could say Denilson should have done better tracking Rooney's run (not that I am, just using it as an example). But criticising Arsenal for the 1st goal wouldn't be over-critical (more Almunia's effort than Clichy/Nasri); it was a great trick by Nani but he shouldn't have been able to walk straight between 2 defenders because there shouldn't have been the space there and Almunia's limp wristed effort of parrying the cross over the bar was pathetic to say the least.

And of course there are occasions where there's genuinely nothing you can do however they're few and far between.

Just noticed that Denilson was involved in all Man Utds goals.

1st - Skinned easily by Nani in the box allowing him to get the shot/cross in.
2nd - Leaves Rooney to run into the space in front of him when he had a 5 yard head start.
3rd - Tries to pull the ball out of the air with poor skill, gives the ball away allowing the ball through for Park to break.

Shocking performance.

Yup and i really do not understand why he played but yet Ramsey didnt...i mean for gods sake Ramsey is a much better player than Denilson will ever be along with Walcott..

I just dont get Wenger sometimes...he keeps faith with these frankly rubbish players...even Diaby as well although he has his moments.

But as ive said before it shows that we need an out and out striker...since RVP got injured we have lost our killer instinct...i dont even rate Bender boy all that much...i know hes slowly getting back to fitness etc but in the past he hasnt filled me with much confidence...im just more disappointed in Arshavin who i thought was extremely greedy as he wanted the glory...hes definitely not the next Henry as some have said...far too greedy....u would never see Henry be as greedy as that. Should have done more to keep Henry in all honesty:(..since he left we have been decidedly average in the past few seasons.

And i know a lot of people cant deal with DM's postings but i have to admit his post a page back nailed it on the head for me...we just arent and wont be as good as Man Utd or Chelski until we get a proven and i mean a world class proven goal scorer.

Every goal Torres scores is a great goal ! Infact every Liverpool goal is a great undefendable amazing goal ;)

Almunia needs replacing. I've never considered him good enough for a top side and today proved it.

Denilson I've always been supportive of, but he should be performing better than he is given the length of time he's been at the club. I think its time he was replaced. Diaby would have made a difference today I feel.

Why did Arsenal continue to cross the ball into the box when it was obvious that none of their forwards were every going to challenge the Man United defenders? They didn't win anything in the air apart from corners and when Bendtner came on.

Giraffes are being had, surely?

Both teams made about 5 good chances and a few decent chances. Arsenal had a number of goal scoring opportunities and I don't know how Arshavin didn't end up with a goal or an assist, I'd count on him to do the business but he had a poor afternoon. I think if Arsenal had a striker then it'd have been a closer game, alas Wenger is tight and RvP can't help but hurt himself.

Man Utd deserved to win though, they were more dangerous and Rooney is in great form, Nani had a good day too

Players miss chances, thats simply life, its the complete isolation of Arshavin that means the way he plays lately is always in a crowd, always under immense pressure, normally receiving the ball with back to goal with no support. Thats how he played today, someone with his head down focusing on the defenders and not his support. Thats happening because of our formation and the way we play football, NOT because Arshavin isn't good enough.

something i agree on completely, arsene is completely fluffing your chance at a title with tactics like this. he needs to pull his thumb out of his **** and buy a front man, because arshavin is not your main forward, hes the guy who needs the freedom offered to him by a frontman who hussles defenders and occupies the space so that he can roam and cause havoc. shame, bendtner is a promising prospect for this rule but needs time develop, right now arsene has messed up your season once again by refusing to dip into his wallet.

Just seen the goals. First was pretty awesome work by nani. Second was good but not as great as I'd read- reminded me of a downing/milner combination from a few weeks back. Denilson and Clichy (I think) were really poor though - they both just completely ignored rooney which is criminal. Very bad defending on the last goal as well even with the last defender deciding that his job is to cover nani when park has a clear path to goal!

lol arsenal making nani look like the new ronaldo afterall!

v bad defending, parks goal was terrible'

we only played 1 up front its not that difficult to defend against!

no wayDowning and Milner could get end to end and score in 9.2 s or how much Sky timed it at!!!

We all knew he wasn't going to buy anybody. I usually agree with Wenger on transfer policy but the fact he hasn't bought anybody this winter is criminal. For £20m or so he could have made this team much, much more competitive in the the league and Europe (and next year too). Crazy.

we only played 1 up front its not that difficult to defend against!

Especially when he's a midget winger.
