I'm pretty sure Rooney has scored more at this point than Ronaldo had in his best season.
Hasn't everyone scored more at this point this year though, team wise, most main strikers at most clubs, hasn't even Pompie scored WAY more than your usual bottom placed side, simply conceded more.
THis year is just a scoring frenzy, had Ronaldo been here this season, and uninjured, you could see him scoring 50-60 the way the leagues shaping up this year.
But even so as FrankJH has shown, Ronaldo was WAY ahead of Rooney at this stage in his 42 year, his scoring rate to the half point of the season wasn't anywhere near Ronaldo's scoring rate. He's scored 8 since passing the half season point, largely because Hull gifted him 4 goals in a truly awful defensive performance, which is unlikely to be matched again this season.
I still don't know what the point is though, Ronaldo had 3 awful years in terms of goalscoring, Rooney had 3 average, but still far better years, after their first 3 years at the club, Rooney was what, 20 goals ahead of Ronaldo, which you'd expect of a striker vs a midfielder, only Ronaldo's goal scoring for his final 3 years pushed it close to Rooney's.
The thing is people are using the stat to show Rooney's ridiculously brilliant goal scoring, rather than what it really says, Ronaldo was a fantastic high scoring midfielder and Rooney's scoring at the rate you'd expect for a striker, nothing more or less.
