English League Football ** spoilers ** [16th - 19th October 2010]

Not too bad a line up for today, although I dont rate Maxi, would rather we played Shelvey today in place of Maxi. Would like to see Shelvey given a run out for a bit in the team.
Playing someone like Maxi should provide a bit of width which has been our biggest failing all season. Our fullbacks haven't had any protection and our opponents have been allowed to cross at will. If we play like that today Cahill will throat **** us.

Yeah I can see the width issue, I'd still rather Shelvey than Maxi do it though as I think Shelvey has more natural ability than Maxi (who I really dont think has much ability at all, not been at all impressed with Maxi since his arrival), plus of course I really do want to see what Shelvey can do in the first team :)

Not to worry, it still looks a reasonable side for today.

is that chelsea who drew to villa yesterday? Or Arsenal who also lost to West Brom? or Man City who spent record amounts to drop out of the carling cup at the first opportunity and still only be level on points with us albeit with a game in hand?

Lucky we haven't had any injury problems this season as well isn't it?

Chelsea can afford to draw the odd away game against a top 10 side if we're going to give away points in over 50% of our games. Arsenal are probably about level with us at the moment, they look far more capable as a team but are also more erratic. City....carling cup? who cares? There team will only gel more as the season goes on, not to mention the potential to recruit more in January.

That's the one. It was either that or resort to petty insults about your comprehension as i had no other way to argue against your rock solid 'well they may or may not improve, i'm not saying we won't improve but i'm not saying we will but I can say that if we drop points in 50% of our games for the rest of the season then Chelsea can afford to drop points in the odd game, oh and in previous seasons we had injury problems early on which we obviously haven't this.'

So I took the high road and appealed to divine intervention as I didn't want to get dragged into a schoolboy row.
