English League Football ** spoilers ** [21st - 23rd August 2010]

That's what happens when you have about 50 thousand mancs on here, with a sizable portion of miserable sods in them.
A sizeable portion who think that somehow after 2 games, that 2 years ago we got 1 measly point from and won the league, we've got no chance. I'll never understand that kind of logic.

because the league isnt about what we do, as much as it must be painful for you to hear it. we are no longer the 1 team who can drop some points and then win 15 games on the trot or whatever is needed to win the premiership.

we are now second place in terms of things like ability to punish smaller clubs and maintain a consistent win streak. its unfortunate but until you realise that our competition is actually much better than it used to be, you will keep telling yourself we can do it...

Liverpool team for tonight:

.................Reina
Glen J....Carra....Skrtel......Agger
.
Kuyt.....Gerrard....Lucas.....Jovan
.
..........Ngog
.....................Torres

Bench:
Babel Aurelio Soto Maxi Poulson pacheco

Been training / practicing 4-4-2 all week from best i can tell, Babel likely to come on for torres late in the second half as there are still worries about his fitness.

Bench keeper still to be decided - for what its worth

Looks like Masch is defiantly off then.

Are you old enough to be placing bets? :p

Indeed! Blasphemy!

A mate got a view of them training this morning and it was a very clear 4-4-2 they were trying out, with Ngog off Torres, and then Babel off Ngog.

-edit-
Before someone asks, it wasnt a 4-2-3-1 because the player off the front man was clearly being instructed to stay within a short distance of their strike partner, where-as an 'in the hole' player wanders all over the place.

I am quite hoping that Liverpool win, not because I consider them any less of a threat to Arsenal finishing in the top 4, but just because it is going to amuse the hell out of me if City don't get into the Champs League with all the cash they're flashing... ;)

? anyways im sad to see Boateng out for around a month as he was class against Valencia...damn drinks trolley (probably Bridge driving it :p) and also sad to see Kolarov is out for a few weeks thanks to the idiot that is Dawson.

sorry biz.kid, it is nothing personal, but if you spend all that money people will root against you... was the same with Chelsea at the time of their splurging.

I also dislike Mancini's tactics, dunno if you agree on that one. He definitely plays not to lose against the bigger teams; 3 Defensive-minded midfielders is staggeringly negative. Perhaps he intends to play milner in there, so that could change, but I don't think the way to win the Premier League is by defending deep with 3 holding midfielders, trying to nick a goal with the three attacking players. I prefer teams with more fluid tactics where players' roles aren't so narrowly defined as 'attacker' or 'defender'... it's all a bit Italian, and Catenaccio is hella boring.
