English League Football ** spoilers ** [24th - 28th September 2010]

I dont see quite what all the fuss is about with chelsea. They are very very good and counter attacking football which works well against the **** teams but man city just did the same to chelsea and beat them. They roasted 5 of the worst teams in the league but from the performances I saw, they didnt play that well, they just decimated the other teams on the counter.

Liverpool 2-2 Sunderland FT

Much better performance once we switched to a 4-4-2 and subbed the abysmal Poulsen (£6 million Roy?) but for the majority of the game we were completely outclassed and outplayed, again.

Last season we beat Sunderland 3-0, had 29 shots and 63% of the possession. Today we drew 2-2, had 13 shots, the majority being in the last 5 minutes, and 54% of the possession.

The only real difference between the two sides was Mascherano and losing him cannot excuse such a negative, disjointed attacking display at home. As nice as Roy might be he's so far out of his depth it's unreal.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Roy only got the job after winning a competition in Saga.

Edit: Worst start for Liverpool in 56/57 years.

Roy Hodgson: "There are no easy home wins in the Premier League, you have to fight for everything. The way we came back from 2-1 down was very commendable and towards the end of the game we were creating a lot of chances. We deserved our point."

He needs to wake the **** up and realise who he's managing.

Great results all round for united!

Wooah there! They first of all need to capitalise on these results, something which they failed to do numerous times last season.

If they put in a shift against a very mediocre (even by their standards) Bolton side, its a great set of results.

If they dont take advantage of this, they only have themselves to blame.

A average mid table side? ;)

I like Roy, but he is going to be out of a job by christmas.

Sign an average manager who has average expectations and you play average football and finish in an average league position. Dread to think where we'll finish once Torres does a runner.

He's only been here two months

Much as Hodgson's signings have been poor and his ambition is questionable, this is a squad which lacks depth due to Benitez squandering the little funds which were available on a £20mil crock and a £18mil right back who can't defend. I'm not saying that Hodgson is the right man for the job, but expecting him to manage a team with the lack of depth that Liverpool do and the lack of funds that they do, and take them to the top 4 in a league which is, arguably, more even than it ever has been, seems a bit unfair.

Says it all really. Once again his comments would apply to Fulham not Liverpool , different expectations at a different club. Sometimes you wonder if he is aware that he has changed clubs. Hate to say it, but I wish we had gone with dalglish as temp manager, then we could have taken o'neill when he became available, it might not change the results but at least he is a more attacking manager and we might have played forward more.

We lacked depth last season, had Torres and Gerrard out for much of it and if reports are to be believed a manager who lost the dressing room yet we still finished 7th.

While Rafa can be blamed for the squad he can't be blamed for the quality of football and the mismanagement we're currently seeing.

But we can all debate the managers fault this adn that the players have to take allot of the blame and its same for every club.

Our players are not showing enough effort enough care or enough passion or belif a manager can do/say as much as he wants but the players have to do their part and ours arent or dont look like it at least

Thats very true also, the blame lies with both manager and players.

I think the pool fans are still pretty deluded

Your team are not good enough to be top 4, wake up and see it please.

With the team you have you have the right manager for the job.

Until you can mount a serious challenge be prepared to see more of this because lets be honest the team is **** poor and you're not far off the right position in the league.

The comments about his remarks being right for Fulham and not Liverpool is pony, Fulham are the same level as you. Your history doesn't count for anything at the minute, its not going to buy you wins or a right to finish top 4.

I know full well we are not currently good enough to be top 4 (I would go further and say we arent top 6), so I would appreciate not being personally insulted and described as deluded.

I still say his comments are more befitting of Fulhams playstyle than ours, frankly I am not disheartened by failing to win, its the manner of playstyle in the failure which disheartens me. I dont mind losing as long as we try and attack and push forward and play that style. Picking 2 defensive midfielders against Northampton and playing 4-5-1 at home to Sunderland is not the attacking style of play that I want to see.

Bit harsh. I haven't seen any Liverpool fans saying they deserve to be in the top four.
