English League Football ** spoilers ** [24th - 28th September 2010]

:/...midtable?
I am not sure about 'Pool, Hodgson is a good manager, they have decent players but the behind the scenes shambles must be making a huge impact which could say something about the players eg dont handle pressure etc because utd are in a similar position and they seem to do well either way.

Maybe because the Liverpool team is totally mediocre - Torres is the only player I'd take at United.

Great results all round for united!

Is that what Man U have become, worrying about other teams, if they win all their games they win the league, stop worrying about other teams.

Not really, when a team plays bad everyone looks bad, when a team is winning every week everyone looks good.

Who's mentioned top 4?

Wrong. With the owners we have we have the right man for the job. The team deserve far better.

We finished 7th last season. If 15th isn't far off our right position with Torres and Gerrard fully fit there's no one to blame other than Hodgson.

So we're at the same level as Fulham and have their old manager. Not hard to see why we're now at their level is it?

The team you have is average bar two players who stand out like a sore thumb

Mid table would suit your current team

Another quick thing....

I think I heard on the Arsenal game they made around 56m profit?

Why is he so reluctant to spend money? I didn't see the entire game but he has had ample time to buy a goal keeper and a proper defense. Skimping money at the back is not really a place you want to be doing it. I know he is very stubborn but it must annoy him no end and the team really aren't that far off mounting a trophy of sorts.

You punched above your weight when Gerrard and Torres stayed fit for 99% of the season, these two alone have bailed you out so much.

When I look at the pool team I really do see anything bar mid table, lucky to get top 6.

25 Reina
02 G Johnson
03 Konchesky (Agger 28)
23 Carragher
37 Skrtel
04 Raul Meireles
08 Gerrardyellow card
10 Cole
28 C Poulsen (Ngog 61)
09 Torresyellow card
18 Kuyt

Team from today, really not that special and the subs bench is so poor

01 Jones, 05 Agger, 16 Kyrgiakos, 17 Maxi, 21 Lucas, 14 Jovanovic, 24 Ngog

To blame it on Roy is harsh look at the team he has.

As said its basically Rafa's team and he was a complete boob in the transfer market. What amazes me even more is how he is linked to buying pool players to take to inter?!?!? The guy is clearly mental.

I'm not sure I'd even take Torres at United at the moment, he looks a pale shadow of his former self at the moment. You just can't rely on him any more, seems to spend most of the time either injured or carrying an injury.

Not at all after todays result :)
But when someone says your team is mid table when we have beaten everyone in the top 4 at least once inside 2yrs and have one of the strongest if not the strongest team in the prem then your bound to be annoyed?
and god Almunia is terrible, at fault for all 3/4 (pen) goals.

I can honestly say there's not one player in City's starting 11 today that I would take over what I perceive to be our strongest 11. Likewise if I were a Chelsea fan so no City are far from the strongest side in the league hence why you can only sneak draws at home to Blackburn ;)

Give it a rest mate you're not telling me that Chelsea, Arsenal, City & Liverpool fans didn't enjoy the fact that we threw away 4 points at Fulham & Everton regardless of how good your own team is you're always wanting your rivals to drop points so reel it in.

Anyway I see Gerrard gets away with another one, he should have got a straight red for the elbow on Welbeck, what's even more disgusting is yet again MOTD completely ignore the incident. Pathetic!

Oh and re Arsenal's goalkeeping situation; must suck to support that team at the moment Fabianski in mid week Almunia today, their keepers just look like making mistakes everytime they play :D

Utd fan?...so you wouldnt have Kompany instead of Evans? Tevez instead of Owen? Hart instead of Kuzscak? Boateng instead of Wes Brown....right ok then, name a starting 11 apart from chelsea so if your a utd fan etc then do your team that is stronger than ours.
--------Tevez-------Balotelli
Milner---De Jong-----Y Toure---Johnson/Silva
Kolarov-Toure--------Kompany--Boateng
---------------Hart---------------------
so utd throw away 2goals against fulham and everton and nearly liverpool? but are better?
Apologies if your not a utd fan but even if you support arsenal, liverpool, tottenham i can change the wording to fit and it will be the same.

Am I not saying it right? We finished 7th last season! If Roy's failings are because of the team instead of his management why didn't they finish lower last year in a season which was considered an absolute disaster?

Edit: I see the word in the post I RTM'd earlier hasn't been removed. Am I to assume derogatory club names are now allowed? Dons?

Read what I actually said before you get your knickers in a twist ;)

EDIT: that was aimed at the City kid

I did read it and you said you wouldnt take any players from our starting 11 and i replied back assuming you were a utd fan....what did i do wrong?
EDIT:You are a utd fan so what exactly didnt i read through properly?
Also do you go to games much? or just base opinions on players from sky?

Why are you comparing your starters against our backups

Aww sounds like the City kid is getting riled up :D Never long before they bring out the how many games do you go to crap.

Ok then....
Kompany over Ferdinand? Hart instead of VDS? Boateng over O'Shea?...i thought Evans and Brown did start? and i just remember Owen and kuszcask from s****horpe game.
Not getting riled up simply asking a question as in a thread on this forum he rated Berbatov a 5 and said he isnt a goal threat. hence me asking as imo he has always looked dangerous but last year didnt score and this he is...and my name isnt city kid.

Only player I personally feel would benefit Utd in their starting 11 is probably Kompany. If Ferdinand gets his form back, him/Vidic are a better starting pair. Not anybody else there IMO.

I'd still rather Hangeland/Hughes than City's centre backs.

*walks off slowly*

We played our reserves/backups for the S****horpe game, that's why.

No chance I'd take Kompany over Ferdinand or Hart over VdS. Boateng and O'Shea is closer as I'd say they are both pretty average.

"..what I perceive to be our strongest starting 11" was the important part of his post. But even with United's strongest starting 11 if you're not picking any players from the City squad it's not to say the alternatives are better, just no worse. If you were thinking further than the here and now I'm sure quite a few United fans would be eyeing up certain members to replace the old guard. I'm sure there are a few more Liverpool fans that would like our squad right now!

Note: I don't defend United fans out of habit. Oddly enough it is possible to comment on another team or game without making an insult out of it :)

Well imo the city alternatives are better and a very select few would disagree, well i do comment on other teams but if a utd fan claims that not one city player is any better than a utd player then he is clearly making a insult to City imo

Yeah but that's just this section of the forum, awash with United fans. Honestly wouldn't bother about it matey :)

Seriously :/

We've been premiership champions how many times? I think you'll find it's the other way round. Hart may have had a few good games but that doesn't suddenly make him better than VdS, he's got to have at least one good season at the highest level before we get that carried away. Especially as he's had some pretty dodgy moments already this season.
