We've been premiership champions how many times? I think you'll find it's the other way round. Hart may have had a few good games but that doesn't suddenly make him better than VdS, he's got to have at least one good season at the highest level before we get that carried away. Especially as he's had some pretty dodgy moments already this season.

Dont you know? I didnt say he was better but he is young and improving and VDS isnt
 
Man City do have a good team on paper but the keyword is 'team'. They need to play this and perhaps next season to fully gel. Just look at how Real Madrid are getting on at the moment.

I fully agree.......against Liverpool and Chelsea we have been but we need to transfer it to the blackburns etc and i hope that we kick on from here starting against juve then newcastle.

I've been out and missed this :(

Personally I'd have a few of the City players on the Bench if I had to build a team combinded of the two squads.

United have a team of talented and very good players, they're a team, a unit. City aren't they are just names on a team sheet at the moment, they've won nothing.

They need time to gel, and need to win something (Chelsea started with the Carling Cup ;) )
 
did biz.kid have a comprehension problem or does he really want to compare our reserve sqaud to man citys first team? win something first then get back to us.

you obviously dont put much stock into the "inate value" from getting the experience time and time again of winning the league.

Not just one player either - but majority of the squad have that with all the players around them.

At City only Toure has that, and even then its for a completely different club in a different league playing with people he hardly knows. It could be argued that Ballottelli also has that, but imo he is too young and wasnt played that much last season for it to be that much value, and I think that was his first league win anyway (I did stress the "repeatedly" winning the league) - in yet another country.

I would possibly take Kompany over Rio - but ONLY because of the respected fitness levels, Rio still has to prove he can play week in, week out for the majority of a season (when was the last time he played three "senior" games in a row, 18 months ago? seems to be something like that)

When was the last time Chelsea lost two games in a row? One of (if not the last) last times they lost two league games in a row was 2005 (incl the 1-0 defeat by Utd) under JM (after a quick google) - so Im guessing it was more recent than that

I was just wondering that myself..... He got a yellow for leading with a forearm into a Sunderland players face.... Yellow means he saw it, so why didn't he get sent off?

As Bruce said, if cattermole had done it, he'd gave been straight off.

Well if you read it i compared your first XI and imo we still have the better players....and oh the usual insult :rolleyes:

try winning something. or is it going to be another year with nothing? 300 million such an awful lot for yet more mediocrity isn't it? Others already pulled you up on not comparing like for like.

No it wasn't an insult it was a question based on the evidence before me.

I never said we will win it, but on paper we have one of the best teams in the league and you really would have to be jealous/bitter to say that we dont. and ok then we will see.

Why do you always come back to the past? how about looking at the future? where Man City are going to be a good team and winning things and utd will rot away...and my comparisons of City and utd players is based on the evidence before me also

Kompany over Ferdinand? Hart instead of VDS? Boateng over O'Shea?...i thought Evans and Brown did start? and i just remember Owen and kuszcask from s****horpe game.
Not getting riled up simply asking a question as in a thread on this forum he rated Berbatov a 5 and said he isnt a goal threat. hence me asking as imo he has always looked dangerous but last year didnt score and this he is...and my name isnt city kid.

I posted that after the original where i did compare your so called reserves that seem apart from kusczack to play every game,
Anyways lets stop this know and talk about something else as your all getting boring with your repeated defence of your players despite knowing that we do possess the stronger SQUAD.

Pretty sure that if anything separates the United squad to most others is experience.

And i'm not just talking about Giggs/Scholes/Rio - a lot of our younger players also have experience, and of winning, because of the way SAF plays the competitions and rotates the squads.

So if you don't want to bicker about class, skill etc, you can bicker about who has the more experienced squad and the benefits of that ;)
