English League Football ** spoilers ** [2nd - 3rd October 2010]

 Jamie Redknapp on SSN.

Its Rafa's fault for buying crap apparently.
But then goes on to say that somehow Rafa managed to get them to pump out performances.

And besides, how can money spent be any argument for getting out-played against Blackpool? considering their entire squad cost less then 6 months of SG's wages.

On current form Liverpool are where they should be, they're not playing well and Roy needs time (it took him a while to get Fulham playing well)
Needs time for what? To put the final nail in the coffin and send us down? We're exactly where the type of football he wants us to play deserves to be.

And when RH was at Fulham playing the same tatics as he now using at liverpool btw didnt they have one of the best seasons ever?

Didnt they nearly win the Uefa/Europa cup with an average premier league team compared to RB liverpool?

So so easy to blame the manager when its clearly not the problem

RH needs time something sadly PL managers do not get

Clearly not the problem?
Playing so many players out of position? which was a criminal offence under Rafa? but now its accepted?

-edit-
And now Andy Grey on sky sports lol
"There are no excuses for Liverpool, they spent a huge sum of money this summer"

Uhm. We did?
I thought we sold about 40m worth of players, and spent 20% of that.

New managers > new methods takes players a while to adjust, we saw this with Fulham as an example.

I don't think Rafa spent wisely, but I won't say Roy has either ( I thought Poulson was a very uninspiring purchase, you let a good left back go and the Aqua man has gone) He's inherited Rafa's side, brought in a few players.

While, I know Roy is in charge of the team, I think even the most hardened Liverpool fan would say that the off the pitch problems will be affecting the players, still Liverpool are more then capable of playing better.

Cannot believe we are 5 points behind and behind City after 7 ******* games. WHat are you doing Fergie :(

He is the best manager in the league by miles, the team is packed full of world class players in ever position, they are playing exciting progresive football and the club is sitting high in the league after spending millions on proven international players.

I dont see what the problem is.................................;)

New methods? again .. square pegs, round holes.
Rafa got slated for some minor changes in player position (LB at LM as an example) or playing Aurelio in midfield (Even thought he played about 30% of his games at Valenca in Midfield).
Yet Roy can take a player who started life as a typical DM, and then developed some attacking prowess and started to play a bit more box-to-box, shove him on the wing where he performs indifferent, all to accommodate a player so poor the Juve fans were celebrating like they won the CL when we went and spent over 5m for him. And you expect me to think this is some kind of inspired decision?

At least Roy didn't try and take false positives from the performance today -

Hodgson told his post-match press conference:

"It's a bad result and a very bad day. There's nothing more I can say. I can tell by the mood in here (press room), that you understand how bad it is for us.

"We were very anxious to get back on track, to get the three points and lift ourselves up the table. No words or anything I can say can change that situation or make it better.

"It's pointless to try and be positive and say the second half was better and we could have got an equaliser because we lost the game - a game we did not want to lose."

He added: "The fans are entitled to take out their frustrations, lots of things have happened to frustrate them and I'm the one responsible because I'm the team manager. When the team does badly criticism will fall my way and I have to accept it."

The off field problems aren't new. It's been going on for the past 3 years. He's inherited a squad that had been weakened over the past 18 months but still a squad that had more players at the WC than any other EPL side.

There is no excuse for our performances; not the off field problems and not the quality of players. It's Hodgson's responsibility to get the best out of the team and as yet he hasn't.

It's not a case of fans being unhappy that we're not back to where we were before last season. Since Hodgson took over we have gone backwards rapidly and there has been no positives to hold onto.

Incompetence from the board room down to the management, owners who wont let go so long as we havnt been relegated and a powerful media agenda for Roy / Against everyone else = bad times.

There is your sentence.

What he said was actually good by him, I really hope he gets a few more games. It's too early in the season yet, fair enough performances have been bad, but string a few wins and confidence will grow imo.

why don't you add in a disgraceful attitude from a lot of your players as well.?

The problem is that there hasn't been any sign whatsoever that things will change.

You can have a bad result like today or even a string of bad results like we're going though and there is usually something to hold onto but it's not a exaggeration to say there's been nothing positive for Liverpool fans this season.
