English League Football ** spoilers ** [6th - 10th November 2010]

Well Fergie continues being Mr Draw. I guess it was a better result than I was expecting though tbh. Only chances I can even think of were Berb's scissor kick and Zabaleta's chance at the end.

What a horrendous team Newcastle are. Beat Arsenal away, beat Villa 6-0, beat Sunderland 5-1, beat Everton away, yet scraped a draw against Wigan and lose to Blackburn.

Getting a few bad results as well as fantastic results makes you a horrendous team. so that makes spurs, arsenal, man utd,man city and Liverpool all horrendous too?

must admit though the inconsistency is shocking. Secant gear up for the big games but those we should have won or at least got a point ie. Wigan, Stoke, Blackpool and Blackburn we just don't turn up.frustrating but as a newly promoted team I'm sure the consistency will come as the season progresses. Makes fulham game much more important now, needs win really. Saying that stilldoing better I thought/hoped for the season so far.

Well, a fairly boring game on the whole. Dominated by Man Utd, Manchester City just defend, defend and defend some more.

Would have liked to win of course, but away I'll take a draw. Wasn't a terrible performance by any means considering some of the awful players we have :p

This. City are an awful side. Like playing against someone on FIFA with the dreaded 7-0-3 formation.

The coms on my ..ahem..viewing method just highlighted something.
Carra and Stevie told Torres to go with the rest of the team to applaud the away support, he basically told them to <swear> off, refused to speak to or shake Roys hand and stormed down the tunnel.
Reina did something similar.

Hope its not true, As if we were to lose Torres/Reina in the near future be a massive loss and i cant think of any replacemeants we could even attract at the moment

As good as Torres is I'd rather lose him than Reina. We've never been short of world class strikers over the years but I can't think of many keepers as good as Reina. As far as I'm concerned he's invaluable and the last player I'd like to see leave us.

Anti climax of the season right there. United had more possession, we defended really well. So did they. I think that about sums it up. Neither team looked like they wanted to win it, just desperately not to loose it. Definitely had that sinking feeling of a United winner close to the end.

I think man of the match has to go to VDS for that fantastic save. Everything else from everyone else was a bit meh. Bet Zabaleta was a bit surprised when he found the ball at his feet though! :D

Park was really poor for Utd. I think he gave the ball away more than finding a team mate. And his first touch was dire. Don't really know what he brings to the team, other than shirt sales in the far east.

Tevez's free kick and VDS's subsequent save was probably the highlight of the match tbh.

In terms of willingness to attack, there was only one side in it. City never threw more than 4 players forward at a time, and their fullbacks are hardly the most attacking either.

How can people enjoy watching that uber defensive 10 - 1 formation that City seem to adopt? :(

He has all that money and attacking talent and just... negative football :(

Barry was about the most willing City player to get forward in the second half, which says it all really. Was quite funny seeing him bomb down the left wing, looking like he was on a treadmill. Baffles me why City play with De Jong and Barry both holding mid fielders even when at home.

This is why Hughes is better than Mancini, the two Utd City games last year were freaking fantastic to watch, even losing City fans had to enjoy the football.

City were every bit as good, if not better, with worse players, playing significantly more exciting football with Hughes.

Under Hughes I made an effort to watch them because the games were often interesting under Mancini, meh, I watch some but not to bothered. Todays game was mostly boring rubbish.

Was a pretty dire game (still can't understand why just the one was televised!). Have to wait till MOTD to see Arsenal's goals.

Good to win even though it sounds like we were pretty inefficient in front of goal. Taking chances still continues to be our problem across every game.
