English League Weekend Football 8-12th January *spoilers*

absolutely ****, once again Fergie has cost us 3 points with his ridiculously timid tactics. 82 mins before bring on a second striker is just indefensible.

MOTD may as well show the whole Arsenal match tonight.

Only three things happened in that whole United game.

Your striking options are quickly looking worse than Liverpool - Ngog, arguably better than Berbatov and Owen :p

Can't believe Manchester United started with just one up front. It is a bit sad that the top teams in the league play with just one up front now even against the smaller teams in the league. You can understand it when they are playing against each other as they won't want to lose, but Manchester United should be playing two up front and making Birmingham try and cope with them. Same with Arsenal.

Two soft yellow cards and Fletcher is sent off. Really really soft. To be sent off and then receive a one match ban for those two challenges is absolutely ridiculous.

Arsenal have played with 3 up front every game this season, they've never changed their formation.

If Man Utd and Chelsea keep insisting that Arsenal are in the title race, I'm happy to oblige :D good result there.

I can list lots of players of the month, half of them are ****, it means nothing.

It means they had a great month, which was my point. You said RvP wasn't important to Arsenal and I said at the start of this season he was the most important, and best player in the team before he got injured.

Not in the slightest. Just Fergies refusal to play any of them. I honestly can't wait for Fergie to retire, I just want to see what someone else can do with this team, Fergie is refusing to make any changes anywhere, just putting his hands over his ears and shouting BLAH BLAH BLAH WE NEED NO NEW PLAYERS THE SQUAD IS PERFECT while he sends Park out as a left winger for the seven billionth time.

180 mins now without us looking close to scoring.

Dress it up as 4-3-3 if you want, but they play 4-5-1 :p

EDIT - Sorry, I'll point out that is my opinion anyway. I think if the advanced wide players track back to help the fullbacks, its 4-5-1.

Most people ignore how much hard and very good work he does defensively aswell, he makes loads of interceptions and if you watch every game he's frequently sitting deeper than the rest of the midfield for large portions of a game.

He often sits back, helps us establish complete control and then clicks on the afterburners and starts making dangerous runs forward when they aren't ready for him.
That's an interesting take on your complaint of "Stupid Wenger won't buy a DM/Flamini keeps pushing up so now Fabregas plays too far back and isn't as good" from the last two seasons. :)

Arsenal missed Song today so badly, he's quickly becoming one of my favourite players, he's going to be a top midfielder in the future, love his style too.

Not sure how they set up on the pitch, but there's usually three strikers on the pitch between the likes of Arshavin, Eduardo, Vela, Bender, Walcott etc. who aren't exactly great defensively

I've always thought that when Arsenal have the ball it's a 4-3-3 and when they don't it's a 4-5-1 which seems like a smart move

A couple of very handy results today but not entirely unexpected as Everton & B'ham are no push overs :)
