Well unless they sack him there won't be an announcement, why would there be? So either they're still finalising their replacement plan or it's not happening.

There won't be an official announcement, no, but the press will get a quiet briefing. The entire footballing world is currently discussing INEOS and Ten Hag.

We already know they don't really rate him as they were keen to get rid in the summer. Based on that alone, I'm not sure why they'd want to prolong this misery really...

If they genuinely believe he's the best fit then they need to brief that and be prepared to weather this storm again when we next lose a game, probably in 10 days time.

They're not going to release a briefing that they're not sacking someone after every game.

Well this wouldn't be after every game, a briefing now would be to say "I know we're now at the second international break, and this is our worst ever start to a season following the disastrous campaign last year - but Ten Hag is our man."

Actually Fergie had a similar start to his third season in the 88/89 season with 2 draws, 2 wins and 3 losses and finished 11th.

Premier League season. Unfortunately I think SAF's legacy has caused lasting damage, too many people think giving a manager time will equal success, when that's so rarely the case. Ten Hag isn't 1% the manager SAF was, it's insulting to even compare them!

What is the difference between Premier League or the old division one? None. Everyone was calling for Fergies head but the people behind the scenes knew what he was trying to achieve.

Id much rather ETH trying to implement possession based football with ups and downs along the way than cop out and go back to compact counter attack style football like Ole for example. He tried to kick on and play possession based football then got sacked.

Arteta went 8th, 8th, 5th. That is recent. Everyone was laughing at him. I am not saying that ETH is the man but judging after 7 league games seems a little knee jerk. We have a good run of fixtures all the way till 3rd of December when we face Arsenal. I would wait until then tbh.

Well it's irrelevant either way, surely. It's not clear to anyone what ETH is trying to achieve. I don't think even he knows.

Arteta had some difficult moments, but generally there was clear progression and improvement. If Arsenal kept signing players and getting worse, he'd have been gone.

And please, I am not judging him after 7 games, but the 2 entire previous seasons, it's frankly ludicrous to frame any of this as "knee jerk"

Probably referring to the worst start of a Premiership season which has been on the news of late.

With the previous worst start to a Premiership season for United credited to the manager from last seaon, who's name escapes me.........

But they did that 2 games ago? How often do you expect them to fuel the media? They will always talk about us. There were crowds of them outside a building where they were having a regular board meeting for christ's sake! What other club do they do this for? There is no need for them to feed the seagulls any more than that.

Yes, all this speculation and media attention is purely because it’s Utd. It has nothing to do with Utd having their worst ever start to the season, following their worst ever season which ended with the club actively looking to replace the manager.

The whole country (figuratively speaking) is expecting him to be sacked - rightly or wrongly - but if that’s not the case Ineos need to come out with a strong statement in support of him. If he is getting the heave ho, why the hell drag it out any longer - make the bloody announcement one way or the other. This apparent dithering is really not a good look and won’t be doing the playing and non playing staff any favours.

If this was happening at any other club I would find it hilarious. That it’s happening at the club I support, no so much.

Theres no point in coming out and strongly supporting him. A, they don't strongly support him and B, no one would believe them. 9/10 when a manager has the complete faith of the owners they are gone a few minutes later.

People love to obsess about these things like there is a "right way" to do it. There isn't. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Unless they genuinely will keep him even if United are battling relegation come season end, there is no point coming out and saying "hes our guy".

I think ETH's ship has sailed, I've not seen anything that inspires confidence.

If the club keep him then really I will start to worry as, well it just wouldn't make any sense.

It's clear as day he's not the right fit.

Again, he comes across as a decent bloke, and he may well go on to do great things after United. But it's quite simply not the right fit for him.
