Escape from Tarkov

Spt is single player? Presumably that doesn't let you do hideout and quests etc?

I actually managed to do that quest last night. Ran into terrargroup with no armour and a knife and found some Russian bloke doing the same thing, we agreed to do it together. On the way out he got shot and I ran back upstairs and hid by a dead body behind a counter. It all kicked off right next to me between some pmc's then as soon as I heard them go to the lab I sprinted out. Was expecting to get shot on way to extraction but made it.

You know the grind having played before... good days/bad days... That's the "joy" of Tarkov....

Enjoying this wipe - best one for a long time.

Cheaters are still an issue obviously, but the reworked armour (whilst still needs tweaked) - seems better and you don't just have people running around with tier 5/6 armour and mega guns/ammo. Low end gear does the job well.

I caved and bought this this week. It's odd cause I'd never even thought about buying it up until a fortnight ago when it popped up everywhere on YT again. I'm a marketers dream.

I'm not sure I can say I'm enjoying it as such yet as I'm still an uber noob and it's pretty overwhelming still, but I can definitely feel it gripping me. I love the fact there's actual objectives to do on the maps and the RPG/base building elements that have an effect on how survivable you are.

Wish I'd gotten involved earlier really, can't believe it's been out as long as it has.

If you’re running it solo it’s definitely a rough and steep learning curve!

I’m at 90 hours and I’m starting to feel like I just about know what I’m doing, know a handful of maps enough to get by and slowly learning the PMC spawns so I can try and avoid getting killed within minutes of a raid starting!

Let me know if you want to team up, much more fun chatting rubbish with someone and much less heart pounding

Learn the game this wipe. Next wipe will be your best ever and there will never be a game like it :D

There are still some awful missions/quests that I'm pretty sure were only put in for max testing the engine/gameplay items. Making players do things they wouldn't normally do. There are plenty that are still fun, mainly the early quest ones.

For new players and even returning players who have been away for some time it's worth using the ammo chart websites like the one below gives you an idea what ammo to use with which guns aswell as if its worth picking up. Ammo type is key, more so than the gun you are using.

Also use the wiki to learn if items are needed for quests or the hideout early on, if they are not just sell everthing.

I would also say nothing wrong with ratting about especially if this is your first wipe, find some where you can hunker down and let the chads run around killing each other, quite often you can hoover up the loot they leave behind. I found that skulking around was the only way i got the tasks done on the new ground zero map as it was carnage for the first weeks of the wipe.

I've been using the 'database for Tarkov' app. Really useful, has ammo details, all quest details, everything you need really. It also has details of what junk to keep for quests and hideout which is amazing for someone with limited time to play.

Ok, I'm still a complete and total utter level 5 noob still, but I'm at least a tiny bit confident in what I'm looking at now. I found a bar of soap for my hideout toilet last night in a raid, and it was like it was made out of solid gold. I sprinted straight for the extraction screaming "I've only got soooaaappp!!" hoping everyone would take pity on me, and they did!

Just need an awl now...
