Essential Android Apps

Using an App now called Watchdog (not 3g watchdog). It monitors apps in the background and alerts you if an app or widget is not working correctly and draining too much CPU etc.

You are far better using this to detect a dodgy app running than using a task killer and killing apps for the sake of it.

What happens when it starts using too much CPU?

You can set it to only download over wireless, so it won't munch your data entitlement.

only bad side to that is i need to use a proxy (uni network) for the browser at least, downloads etc seem to glitch through the proxy :/

Cheers for that, going to give it a try and hope that the app itself doesnt nom all my cpu

Its not really a security program like wave secure. You just text your phone "Where's my droid" and no matter what ringer settings the phone currently has, it rings so you can find it.

There is a security program that is free similar to wavesecure, but i've forgot the name. It's new, il go hunting.

Have a look on the market for Prey. I use that for remote tracking and WMD for when someone puts in another SIM.

Thats because it supports USA only at this time....
