Thanks but I was looking for remote desktop app that I can control my pc when I'm not at home. Currently I can log onto my router and wake my pc up but want to then connect to my pc via http using my mobile rather than use it as a remote to control software on the pc

Yeah I read your post again, which is why I put the edit in :p

No worries, not sure of any apps that can do that except logmein (which is a rip off  IMO)

In regards to the replies about Tasker and LogMeIn Ignition, I can highly recommend Tasker, I've used it since beta and paid for it without thinking twice. Great app, although the UI has a bit of a learning curve.

In regards to LMI Ignition, it's too dear for my liking, I use PhoneMyPC, which does the job admirably.
I've had a couple of crashing issues of late though, no idea why. I use the 64bit client, so it might be an issue with that.
To use the phone as a mouse pad, I'd say go for PRemote droid, it's free and works flawlessly (not to be confused with Remote droid, which is okay, but I find the way the PC client works really annoying).

Anyone else notice that Doodle Jump is quite a bit different from the iPhone version? Not just the lack of themes, but I regularly hit "impossible" sections, ie a white block and nowhere else to go, or literally just stuck on one block with nothing above me. Bit disappointing considering it costs more - they could at least say that it's a stripped down version with regards to the themes.

Problem with poweramp is that when browsing artist, it list there songs in alphabetical order, instead of by albums like the norm.

It also not the easiest to navigate through, although that might just be because i gave up after a few tries.

Seems to use a lot more cpu than the standard player too.

Hopefully the finished app will sort these little issues out because the rest of the player is great.

Just as a heads up a new beta came out last night which fixed the browsing by albums, also there is a lock screen widget now.

Easily my favourite music app now, I have ditched Player Pro which I bought. The main advantage is the EQ and also finally I can listen to speech podcasts (LBC, Iain Lee etc) in bed and turn down the volume enough so I can sleep to it! My headphones made the old music players too loud on even the lowest volume setting!

Doesn’t really matter where you put it. The media player should either offer it in a list of video files or you simply need to navigate your file structure to the avi you wish to watch.
If neither work I suggest you use RockPlayer or VPlayer (still in alpha).

Have been trying Poweramp for the last 24 hours. Got great potential and its obviously still in beta, but for me the final version needs:

  • Lock screen album art and track details, not just the media transport
  • 4x4 widget with album art
  • Ability to save EQ presets
  • Ability to specify music folders (at the moment it adds all of my BeyondPod podcasts to the library, can't see any way to stop this)
  • Automatically download album art

Other than that, I'm pretty impressed.

Seems the guys at PowerAmp are listening to me. New version addresses nearly of all my requirements above. Just need a 4x4 widget and be able to save EQ presets now.
