White Noise. It generates different types of white noise (like a woman does too) and helps you to drop off to sleep. Works for me but I do put my phone in "Flight" mode.

Is there an app that changes the wallpaper based on weather? But you have the wallpaper of choice for each weather condition?

Also, is it possible to modify the lock screen from the sense one?

LauncherPro, I'm keen to give this a try but I'm unsure as to how it will effect sense (using a desire). After installing will I be able to uninstall with everything going back to normal? Will lp and sense contend for resources or otherwise negatively interfere with each other? Anything else I should be aware of?

When you press the home button, it'll pop up with whether you want to use the Sense Launcher or LP, just set LP to default and it shouldnt use Sense. Also you'll have to pay for Launcher Pro Plus if you want to use any of the HTC Sense widgets.

Not used them but Tasker seems to be the most powerful and has more in the planned features.

If you have Beautiful Widgets then you can get Beautiful Live Weather.
Think you ned root access to change lock screen
