I'm a longtime user of tasker, it's an outstanding app, but does take a little time to get your head around! I also use it for creating custom pop up menus on my home screen to keep things tidy. It can do a million other things that I don't know about too I'd imagine!

So is k9 still the best 3rd party email app? After shifting away from HTC sense based roms, the stock mail client just doesn't offer enough after becoming so used to htc's modified version.

I just tried K9 (like you, having gotten used to HTC's offering). Not overly impressed really!

As much as I try to get away from it, I think i might end up sticking with Sense lol (can't really say anything too bad about their email, contacts and messaging apps!)

Or use Endomondo - that's what I use, find it much better than SportyPal.

What phone do you have? Is it rooted? Please report back if you have fixed it. Cheers

Just download "go sms". anyone else use this? I'm always worried when apps get this much access! heard of problems with handcent and chomp... such as forcing close, sending duplication texts, etc. any other users?

Not fixed yet

.Phone is a rooted Orange Sanfrancisco but still on stock rom.

I have Google Maps 5 on the Orange San Fran using a 2.2 Froyo rom, looks like flashing to 2.2 may be your only option?

You won't find anything on the market that holds a candle to the Sense email client.

Unfortunately Google must think everyone who uses Android works in a supermarket stocking shelves.

The stock email client is just a joke in reality.
