Just installed this and swapped to the small 4x1 Sense anlog clock to make more room.

You can place application shortcuts on it alongside system info icons, and it looks really decent.
 
I've never had a single problem with Handcent. :confused:


Just try it and if you have problems or think access is too much then don't use the app simples.
 
Handcent has support to backup and restore OTA so requires the additional access - Never had any problems here either using it.
 
I actually type a lot faster using the Gingerbread keyboard due to its error correction being quicker to correct and also punctuate although the only thing it doesn't punctuate correctly all the time is "it's"
 
Does anyone know if there is a FT app? I know there is one for the galaxy tab, but can't seem to find one for android in general.

Also, am I the only one that dislikes Swype? Sure its good for a few days but then it just gets irritating...I find Smart KB Pro much easier and quicker to type on!

I've uninstalled this and gone back to Handcent. I found it didn't always notify me when a text arrived for some reason.

Not a fan of swype either, been trying out swiftkey, which is nice, but overall I think the HTC keyboard is still the best.
 
I used to love Swype, on my Magic I used it all the time, but I just can't get used to it on my DHD. Swiftkey is good as well, but I just stick to the stock HTC one for now. :)
 
I think the speed of Swype is probably equal to that of the stock/other keyboards once you get used to them, but I just find the actual physical swyping action of typing a lot less of a chore than touch typing.
 
I found I could type at the same speed on the stock HTC (DHD) keyboard as Swype (both in portrait and using 2 thumbs in parallel) but when you make an error with Swype it is very slow to correct it.
