Last I checked you couldnt get it in the UK, if its available now I'll go check it out, probably a later version :)

I can still get it to run, but not without it wanting to download each time you start haha.

With Winamp released for Android surely you could just set up a Shoutcast server on your desktop? (You'd probably need to stream over the internet rather than within your LAN though, but if you're in wifi range that doesn't matter).

Audiogalaxy - free and streams via AGs servers.
Subsonic - 10Euro but you host/rent your own server.

I'll look at both of those, thanks. Never heard of shoutcast and yes you're right it's not really a problem if I have to stream over the internet instead of WAN.

As it happens I downloaded gmote last night, which works very well for music (not for avis though). Next step is set up my PC's wake on LAN facility.

Shock horror, I've found an application that I prefer over a stock Sense application

Go SMS works well, very configurable and looks nicer than the stock messaging application.

Unfortunately, not a good enough camera, contacts and email client replacement for me to go ASOP just yet.

Dialer One doesn't work as I would like it to with contact Facebook photos.

X Contruction was good while it lasted, quite challenging and very well polished :). Still updates to come though, it was only released in full this weekend! (for just €1).

Can someone provide an apk of the latest version of the market please

^^ +1

I had a copy of it before that you just dropped into the system/app folder and replaced the existing vending.apk but I managed to delete it in one of my many retarded moments...

I think I found it on XDA but I can't find it any more :( anyone got one floating around?

I've found installable apk's for it but they don't let me install it :(

You'll have to create a Nandroid backup and restore that if it buggers up, although it should not :p

Sounds like too much faf lol think I'll just copy out all the files that it is going to replace...

Then that can be my backup ;)

Is there any program you know about that lets you explore the root directories from my pc?

>edit<
Don't worry - found my SDK :) job done lol

Nandroid is the least faf there is, create backup, one. restore backup, done!

Takes 5 mins each way.

You're in recovery to flash the zip anyway so might as well create a Nandroid.

Downloaded switchpro...first impressions are very good. Only thing is the auto brightness setting doesn't seem to do anything. It just remains on full brightness.

Edit - it works if I lock the screen then unlock it again. Shrug.
