Add above, as long as they are saved as Google contacts, not phone contacts. They would need to be converted or backed up with an app. Just filter by type to see what they are saved as

Once in Google's Cloud, you can manage them in Gmail.

Always surprised me that Android users don't know this, but I guess maybe people aren't used to 'the cloud' yet?

Ok thanks chaps.

One other request - any opinions on what the best app is for uploading images to imageshack or imgur or whatever? Specifically for sharing said images in forum posts.

Thanks

Personally, I don't bother uploading to those sites, I just use dropbox...

Just copy your file into the public folder, get the 'public' link and post away - snorted :)

Photobucket has their own Android app which links in to the built in Gallery App's share function. Works quite well and Photobucket automatically resizes the pic.

I've yet to use dropbox but i'll give it a go tomorrow. Does it work well with posting photos on forums?

I'll give it a go, thanks. How is for making it as easy as possible to post them on forums?

Yeah it works fine, once you've uploaded your image (it has to be in the "public" folder) you just long press it and tap 'share' then tap 'copy link' and then put that link in your forum encased in img tags or whatever it happens to be...

I've been using dropbox on my pc for about a year and I was apprehensive about using the android app thinking it wouldn't work so well etc... but it's great :)

So easy to use - I'll never use photobucket again! :D

Here's a referral link so you'll get an extra 250MB when you register...
(plus I get more too lol)

What's the easiest way to move your Android 'Music' folder into Dropbox? I have ES File Explorer so was going to do it that way but can't seem to find the Dropbox folder.. It'd be nice to be able to chuck songs into my Dropbox to upload them to my phone.

Also, is there a music player that can be moved to the SD card? Desire owner here.. trying out Swiftkey again but it's put my internal memory over the limit so I need something to give up some space! :o

Anyone else picked up Little Empire? Its a kinda cool little game, thought it might be good to get an OCUK group going if enough people are interested.

Is there any way an app that doesn't require root can check to see if your phone is rooted?

I have a corporate app that I'd like to use from work, but its terms state you can't use it if you're rooted. Is this because of security concerns?

Oh I see what he meant now, the wording was odd ;) - deleted.

Edit:

Now that I can reply properly, since it's a corporate app, they probably don't want people on rooted phones using it because anything with root access can literally do anything on your phone, so it's definitely security reasons.

I am about to give my mum my HTC Legend, she is coming from a Blackberry and is going to a new sim only plan.

She needs to be able to receive emails from 2 separate accounts, 1 hotmail and 1 gmail.

What is the best app i can get that will connect both these accounts and have all the emails in one place?
Thanks.
