Why oh why won't Google Music come out in the UK :(

Just use a VPN/proxy

Got Google Music set up a while ago now - it's useful to have, but the actual app is rubbish, as is the buffering/lag (even on 80Mb wired connection using the web player).

Just out of curiosity what are you finding wrong with the app? I use it whenever I drive the car basically and it works fine (almost exclusively for music cached on the phone though)?

Also the web player works fine for me, both at home on a ~18mbps o2 connection and at the office on a shared ~20mbps, I'd say it's your ISP that's the problem :p

Will getting it now via the workaround cause problems when it's actually released?

What worthy alternative services are there that aren't iTunes/iCloud/Match?

I want a music service in which I can own my music as well as purchase music, add my existing music to the service, and sync between devices.
I feel like there's nothing that does that apart from iTunes Match and Google Music

Can't see it causing problems using a proxy, you only use it to sign up, you can access the web app without the proxy. You do need to either use market enabler or download the apk to get the app on an android phone but neither is too challenging, lacks updates though.

Also not sure if even using the proxy allows you to purchase music as yet, which is irritating :(

I do like the service though, upload takes a long time, and would like to be able to buy songs (which you can then download, but not sure on drm or anything), but overall I like it and use it pretty much every day either on my work PC, or on my phone in the car, or at home.

With the phone it's especially nice as I've set a single playlist to be 'avaiable offline', I can then modify that playlist wherever and the changes are updated on the phone so very little manual usage required just open the app and press play 99% of the time :)

Cool thanks for the info.

Check out Gyro on the Market/ Cool free game that's rather simple but very hard as you progress!
