Essential Android Apps

its seems to use the CPU while in the background - i.e. when in memory and not open. Anyone notice battery drain with this app?

Just had a look, and yes mine is also using CPU while in the background. It's using between 0.5%-1.5% on my Transformer TF300.

Hmm it's not ideal, is it. While a few percent isn't much it's still working away consuming CPU cycles.

I've sent an email to the devs, asking what's going on.

Nice one.

For all those on ICS and want to view OcUK on your phones:

ICS+ browser
Set all the font sliders to max and use it just for this forum - portrait viewing FTW!!:

You can do that on various browsers, such as Chrome.

The thing that works in Chrome's advantage is clicking the small buttons and unread post links. If you have problems clicking tiny icons that is.

Iv'e tried chrome - just doesn't format the forum too well - some text stays tiny.

I love the sense launcher as well, just love the widgets and some features (especially the clock/weather widget), there really aren't any widgets that match the sense ones for quality overall and they all have the same look/feel to them where as with 3rd party widgets they all look/work different and you no longer have that "unified" look/feel (IMO) and I love the translucent notification bar when on the home screen etc.

However, I don't really like the app drawer, the icons just feel so squashed together, the launcher seems to reload sometimes when you return from an app and it is still very RAM hungry, so I am just using apex (free), snowstorm weather widget, smooth calendar, switch pro, tasks free widget and APW 4x4 calendar now.

I'm an Android n00b and am currently contemplating the switch from iPhone. One of my most used apps is something called PhotoSync which can bulk-send pictures/videos from the phone wirelessly to a variety of destinations, PC, Facebook, Picasa etc.

Is there an all-in-one equivalent for Android, there seem to be apps that do it for an individual service, but I can't find one that does everything.

hmm i know g+ syncs all your photos with google and dropbox will do it too (the cloud and your PC) but not sure about throwing everything on facebook though
