Essential Android Apps

This was only two pages back... and quoted one page back... Seriously, could some of us learn to read a little bit before posting questions?

Well thanks for that useless link.

Nexus, mrk, where can I find the icons for the play store, battery etc?

Can't find them in that link which I had ALREADY checked.

Ah, you mean those icons.

Those are just minimalistic text widgets (1x1 widget) using the static text boxes and then adding a task/command to launch the apps when tapped on.

Uploaded one of the backed up settings below, you just need to change the static text to what you want and change the task/app that is launched when the widget is tapped on and maybe add/remove some "spaces" from the static box depending on your grid size/screen res.

Let me know when you have downloaded that as I will remove the link when you're done with it :)

Look at what I found :p:

No need for root access etc. just install and you have the stock android JB black status bar straight away

Only problem is in order to get notifications, you have to grant access to pretty much everything so in other words it can access all your texts that you receive etc. :(

Also, anyone like the tweak that Samsung built into the new touchwiz on the GS 3, where if you're in a full screen app, you can access the notification bar/tray by just swiping down?

Well now you can do it on every other android mobile as well:

Back on Thumb Keyboard, I just miss the landscape layout in it that other boards don't really have:

:p
The "tweaks/features" like that etc. are very useful :)

Don't all these "bolt-on" tweak only use more memory. I try to keep the processes running in the background to a minimum.

Love landscape mode in thumb keyboard. But I find typing in portrait easier, especially with swype.

They use very little memory.

Besides android handles the RAM/tasks very well, so it isn't "active" unless required, also that smart tray/notification app only becomes "active" if the app is in full screen mode, which is only when games & videos are running (for me that is), but not running when in an app where the NB is visible.

Nice - but quite a few bad reviews it seems - you finding it ok?

PS. - your blue colour-scheme looks a bit patchy :D

Yeah read them and ignored them anyway :p :D

I have un-installed now :p But yeah it worked well enough regarding the notifications (although when installing an app, it doesn't show the dll icon) and turning wifi, H/G off etc. worked pretty well, although was a bit delayed sometimes (the time and battery status etc. updated fine though)

Main reasons that I un-installed it were:

- the stock notification bar would show every now and again when certain things were carried out and when using that smart NB app, it would show first followed by the JB bar, find this pretty annoying
- It also made scrolling through homescreens a wee bit laggy
- didn't like it having access to everything I do (need to in order for notifications to work)

Amongst a few other niggles, but all in all it worked pretty well, just needs more optimization :)

What do you mean "looks a bit patchy"!!!??? :p
