I thought it was based on AOSP as well but someone posted a benchmark shot on XDA and it says that it is chrome V18 or something.

And then you have all the other wee tell-tale signs i.e.

- can't install quick ICS browser etc. as it requires AOSP based browser
- no flash player
- some chrome features are on the touchwiz browser

That is for the GS 4 and newest touchwiz version anyway, don't know about the older version/GS 3 :p

Hi all,

Off to Kefalonia next week and will be hiring a car. Does anyone have suggestions for a good (and preferably free or cheap) offline satnav option? I'm assuming I can still use GPS on O2 without charges, can anyone confirm that?

As I said in the ***Images of things purchased in May 2013*** Thread...

Finally Bit the Bullet and Purchased my second ever App for my Phone and Tablet! :)

Loads easier to find stuff in the Drawer, and the two finger swiping is great!, plus Apex Notifier now gives me little numbers of Emails, Calls, Texts etc... :)

Did a side by side comparison between Nova and Apex for about a month, and preferred Apex!! :)

I never thought I'd buy another App, the only other one I have is Cerberus, Yes I now I also have Avast (I like to keep my Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 safe and secure!!!), but I bought it and I'm glad I did!! much better than the free version!! :)

Uc and maxthon are pretty good browsers too, the UI puts me off them though :p boat is very nice as well, again the safari ui puts me off :D :p

Have you tried xscope or/and Holo web out? They are very good too, probably my favorite 3rd party browsers.

The funny thing is, Samsung have done a far better job with chrome (touch wiz browser is based on chrome) than what Google have!

Not tried the Holo one though couldn't find it. No matter, gone back to Boat Browser  Maxthon and UC are good but not for me in the end. Used to use ICS+ for long time. Seem to go back to Boat as paid for the Pro version a while back.

Hmm, it seems like the thread was deleted

This was it:

Apparently because it was more or less a copy of tint browser, which does look pretty much the exact same :p

Might give it a go again but will probably end up back on sense tomorrow :p

ICS+ is really nice too, personally prefer quick ICS browser to it, more options/features and everything else is pretty much the same.

I prefer apex overall too, more options/features/choice and iirc more animations and overall it has a nicer UI but the sole reason I don't use it is due to micro lag in the app drawer when scrolling backwards, so I use nova instead :p But both are more or less the same!

Must be different for the S3 Touchwiz browser because I've got quick controls and flash :p

Why do you prefer Apex?

Pretty Much, But as I don't care about 'Micro Lag' (what ever that is :p ) I went with Apex!! :)

Stutter! :p Well for me anyway!

It is damn annoying, everywhere else is perfectly smooth, scroll forwards in the app drawer, no problems, scroll back and you can see micro stutter/lag, more noticeable when you scroll quicker too.

Hmmm just tried going back and forward (slow, fast and really fast) in the drawer on both my Nex4 and Nex7 (both Stock 4.2.2, Unlocked and Rooted) and either I'm just not seeing it, or it'd not happening on mine!. :)

I'm happy anyhew!! :D
