Euro 2012 Qualifiers 7/8/11 October ** Spoilers**

But you dont do it at club level.

Suarez does go from "hero" to "****" on a week to week basis?

First of all this isn't 'club level' and cheets evidently doesn't support Utd either. And no Suarez doesn't go from a hero to a **** on a weekly basis.

And seeing as you're hinting at it (and to save us time), Rooney didn't make a mistake or slipped up, he acted like a ****. Had Rooney missed an open goal, generally had a bad game or even had he got sent off in another way (picking up a 2nd booking while tracking back for example), it would have been wrong to call him a ****. However to pick up a needless red card for having a petulant swipe at the back of a defenders legs is acting like a **** so it's fair game to call him a ****.

It's not fair however to blame him for England's below par performance in the second half. I don't disagree with what you said about Rooney btw.

I'm fed up of England playing awfully, I'm fed up of Cappello and I'm fed up of his stupid team selections.

For the general performance before and after the red card? No. However a case could be put forward for blaming him for the outcome of the game.

Nobody knows whether we'd have held on, gone on to win by more or even gone on to lose had Rooney not been sent off but to blame Rooney is an opinion (possibly a knee jerk one) not trolling.

I don't think anybody called the Evertonians trolls last week for blaming red card on their loss, despite the fact we'd have smashed them anyway :p

So IF and its a big IF Suarez acts like a **** in a way that is defined in a more clear way than we can tonight, you wont defend him?

I would expect you to, and i would be disappointed if you didnt.

I don't think you can compare the red cards from the games though, Rodwell's dismissal had a much bigger impact, it made the game easier for Liverpool for a very long time.

England were really very poor, I thought they did "alright" at times in the first half, but meh on the whole.

I'm sick to death of England and the manager / squad.

I need a new international side :p

If a Liverpool player got sent off in a similar way to Rooney did today, yes I'd be critical of them and have no problem calling them a ****.

In fact I remember being very critical of Mascherano for getting sent off at OT a few seasons ago, despite the fact that I didn't think he deserved to be sent off (based on what others had and would be let off for).

Be interesting to see how the team plays without Rooney. Whoever plays in central midfield should get a lot more time on the ball and far more space to play in without Rooney dropping deep and infecting our play.

It's not a case of supporting/not supporting. When somebody does something well you praise them and when they act like a **** you criticise them.

Agreed. Beckham got stick for getting sent off against Argentina, and was no doubt cheered by the same people for his freekick against Greece. That's the way it goes in football.

As for the actual sending off I don't get it, unless I missed something earlier in the game I don't remember that guy having tried to break Rooney's legs or anything, Rooney just seemed to chop him for no real reason, no major flareup in the build up, in the opposition half so no danger, 20mins to go in yes a qualifier game with 1 goal lead (when a draw would be enough) but even so not exactly the most tense match he'll ever have played in.

The concern must be if he flips out in a game that was practically in the bag against Montenegro, what's gonna happen in the Euros if we're a goal down against Spain, he's had Pepe niggling him all game and Busquets collapsing to ground via a triple-salco everytime he breathes on him?

Fair enough.

I cant really argue with that.

The problem with England is that the same people who will laud them when they do well are the first to put the boot in when they dont.

The man who would cheer Rooneys goal next summer is the first guy to call him a "******* tonight. And yet he will be surprised if Rooney said he doesnt want to play for England tonight despite the abuse!

You think it would suit someone like Cleverly or Wilshire who like to play in that space?

Ah ok. So you can have have images of yourself hung outside grounds and its acceptable as long as you can gaurantee you will score a career defining goal later?

OK.
