I was in Amsterdam yesterday and when I went into the freight list looking for my next load there was a Overclockers UK trailer there. I should have took a screenie, but I have never seen one of those before. Probably from one of the real companies mods I am running.

I hope Pro-mods launch the special transport enabled maps soon as I am running out of achievements on the vanilla map.

I had a few outdated Jazzycat mods so I will be reset in my truck which is a good thing. Downloaded Rusmap as well, ever since I running an older version I'd scrapped all other map mods.

Time to fire it up, some of these routes look extremely tough.

Won't be getting these numbers any time soon again! :D

I see this and American truck simulator are on sale at the moment.

Which is the better game and can both be played in VR?

Going to pick one up as I've read so much good things about them but not sure which to go for.

ETS2 is the better and I'd grab the Going East! Viva Le France and Scandinavia DLCs, perhaps skip Italia for now as it's the most expensive I believe and probably not worth going for if you're just starting out.

Do you have a wheel/pedals already?

I've tried ETS2 in VR (Oculus Rift) and it's okay but not something I could sit there for a session and do. Requires a lot of head movement!
I just enable the option to have the camera follow the wheel as I turn it and then manually move the camera for parking/reversing.

ETS2 also has a very active multiplayer mod by TruckersMP too which is definitely worth a try.

OK mod time... Been playing since 29th October 2013, seen a LOT of different mods, however these are my personal favourites, in categories for ease of use,

First image I ever took, on that day ^ http://oi42.tinypic.com/s3gba1.jpg

For ANY mod site, get an adblocker and a fast finger to close opening pages upon hitting download.

I'll link to SCS Forum mods, but not third party sites just in case.

Sounds
-----------
Sound Fixes Pack - A whole plethora of sound additions - https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=212&t=200919&hilit=sound+fixes
Dr Holz's Sound Pack - Re does all the sounds of the basic trucks, indicators, engine startup etc. If you can't find it I'll upload mine.
Enhanced Truck Sound Plugin - This makes the engine sound a lot better, similar to above and always introduces a "brake squeal sound". https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=165855 Just read this one CAREFULLY, to make sure it's installed correctly and sounds like the video.

Graphics
------------
NEXT_GEN Graphics Mod - https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=247693 Speaks for itself.

Physics
------------
AlexeyP's Physics Mod - One of the best in the business, AlexeyP does amazing work - https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=202&t=200807

Maps
-----------
Promods - Free, huge and a ton of fun - https://promods.net/index.php Keep this bookmarked for updates, it's not yet compatible with 1.30. Promods website also has a load order thread for using maps, so make sure you follow that, if and when you decide to add these or the game will not load.
Rusmap - Free, fairly big and very well made - https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=243183 A great addition to Promods.
The Southern Region - https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=212941 Mix of Southern Russia and whatever else is down below, has some nice dirt roads too!

Trucks
-----------
RJL's Scania - https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=177963 This is the most extensive tuning modification for any truck I have seen, watch the videos to understand.
Ekualizer's Scania 143M - https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=187840 A lovely little older truck, has lots of character.
Ekualizer's Merc 1632 NG - https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=171463 Again another older truck, slow but enjoyable.
Aradeth's Volvo VNL670 - https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=206040 He stopped work for a while, so awaiting his return, similar to RJL levels of tuning.

Trailers
-----------
Jazzycat's Trailers - http://jazzycat.ucoz.net/index/mody/0-4 Among the best in the business, very high quality models and a pleasure everytime he updates them. In Russian and English thankfully!
All his work is on that site.

Misc
-----------
HD And Colored Map - Better than the bland, grey one!
Real European Gas Stations - A nice touch of realism.
SiSL's Flat UI - a much cleaner, but "flatter" UI in the menu's.

Has been a while since I did a mod write up, keeping me busy!

I'm new to PC gaming and this is the first time I've tried adding mods. Got there in the end.

Installed the next gen graphics mod and it's working great. Looks so much better. Possibly add some other bits later on but for now I'm perfectly happy

Thanks again digitalx

You're welcome :)

Load order is quite important, the way I've always done it is:

Weather
Sound
Physics
Maps
Trucks
Trailers
Miscellaneous

Note about Promods: You must own the Going East! DLC, the Scandinavian DLC, as well as the Vive La France! DLC in order for ProMods to work.

Just got an email from them informing me version 1.27 is live and ready for the ETS2 1.31 patch! Fantastic.

Nice. Cheers for the list, the load order and the tip on the add blocker, I was beginning to wonder if any mod site was actually useable. Picked up all the territory dlc's today.

Dabbled with ATS, decided to throw it all in on ETS. The game in VR finally bridged that fantasy to reality, so enjoyable.

There are several load orders, but that works for me at least, fingers crossed, touch wood etc. I've yet to by Italia DLC only.

ETS2 with VR and a wheel, shifter and pedal setup is amazing.
