It seems to take forever to amass enough money to buy your own truck let alone start hiring drivers for other vehicles in your company. I played for hours last night as a driver for hire but still cannot afford my own truck

I played this for 8hrs so far, got the 320k loan and bought an iveco, levelled up my garage, hired a driver and bought a scania. It bugs me that you have to level up to upgrade your truck. My iveco can't really pull anything over 13t and is frustrating to drive. I decided to take out the speed limiter to make it more fun too

The basic only changes the skins advanced changes everything.

Iv been playing this game since it came out very addictive my advice for leveling up quick is avoid hitting enter to park, park it yourself you earn lots more points which levels you up much quicker.

Iv six garages and 7 drivers all driving Man,Volvo's and Dafs. Only mod I installed was a 1010hp engine mod for my Sexy Scania its top speed is still 55mph though

Well yes, they have to have the limiter as per EU laws, the game follows this, however in the latest BETA (didn't know 148 existed) you can turn this off if you wish.

Think I'm close to level 32 now, got about 8 Drivers and 8 Trucks IIRC.

Why oh why did I buy this stupid game?

I'm so horribly addicted

I think I messed up by buying the first Scania available which is crazy slow. It's a crazy fun game though - I've done a few trips around Britain and done a handful of drops to Europe. Great fun!

One thing I hate though is that as soon as I switch back to the interior view, the audio just goes ridiculously quiet.

Instead of bringing a new one out I hope they just update all the cities with more landmarks and fix a few more of the bugs, the support staff for this game are immense, 1.4 has fixed nearly all the issues we had when we first played this.

LOL it's strangely satisfying hauling a load and dropping it off after a long drive. I flipped the lorry the first drive out by taking a bend too quickly, and then again when the steering didn't turn fast enough coming out of a bend and I clipped the barrier.

On my Scania lorry, there's an upgrade option for a more expensive gearbox, what benefits will this give me? I can't quite see what it does in game.

Pretty sure a better engine allows you to get more out of the engine.

Agreed. They're doing a really good job for a small studio. It's good to see them actively support and develop a title rather than doing it behind closed doors and expecting us to pay up for ETS 2014 (or whatever they might call it).

It's not just squishing bugs, they've added features, released on Steam and Linux, added new trucks plus secured licensing for all but one of the brands represented by lookalikes when the game launched. All for £0.

Argh.. I spent £60 on the Steam sale, however I have played an hour of all the other games, but days on this one!

I think I am in the majority when I scoffed at the sound of a Truck Simulator, however I am now addicted!!
