European Grand Prix 2010, Valencia Street Circuit - Race 9/19

Red Bull blaming the crash on different braking differences.

Looking at onboard from Mark's car, there is no reaction time at all from Heikki breaking to Mark crashing into the back of him.

Very difficult for Webber to do anything by the looks of it. Seems it's just a "racing incident".

but why was he slipstream a car that much when he knows it will have to brake 50-80m before him. Haki was right over to the side of the track, Webber could have driven straight round him.

be had the new teams defending in monaco. they must be allowed to defend position

edit: also interesting point on Gascoyne twitter (biased although he will be). Webber was coming in very hot anyway, could he have slowed it down in time for the corner away.

edit 2: looking at the replays, most the rubber is being layer down by the LG sign. assuming this is a rough guide for braking point. the crash was level with this sign. so may Webber did overcook it.

Quite angry with Coulthard, you need a speed difference to overtake ffs so I welcome KERS and adjustable rear wings. It's up to the overtaking driver to do so safely. I don't know, but rightly or wrongly it seems to be Mark Webber involved in these racing incidents more often than not.

Good lord. A rather egotistical Team Principal. He seems to be a bit of a keyboard basher.

1) Chief Technical Officer - not Team Principal - thats http://twitter.com/tonyfernandes

2) He's right though. Heikki was in front, braked for the corner and Webber totalled the rear of their car. Was it a safe place to overtake, evidently not, Webber tried it anyway. Not the first time we've seen that from him. Ask Hamilton about his inability to brake at times.

Seems that most people agree with Eddie over Coulthard....

No surprise there. Coulthard is spouting more crap than Eddie normally does.

On, Alonso is claiming that the race was manipulated... Good god you really are a shining wit... ;)

I'm not saying that Heikki was totally not at fault. He wasn't. Neither was, IMO, Webber. It is the FIA's fault for allowing A and B classes to compete in the same series. The braking points were too extremely different between those cars.

It's just the reaction from Gascoyne that is totally unacceptable. He is the public face of the team and you just don't "take the bait" like he has done.

I like Webber but I can't see how it's anyone else's fault but his. He is the driver behind and should know his own speed and an idea of the Lotus car's performance and taken action appropriately. If Heikki has a longer braking zone make sure you're not behind him when he hits the damn things. It just seemed such a clumsy mistake to make.
