He didn't have to accelerate normally out of the corner, as it says, the first car behind the SC dictates the pace. He didn't accelerate quickly out of the corner, and Vettel was too near and misjudged it and accelerated into the back of him.

Exactly. The only reason Vettel was too close was because he'd been caught out at the first restart, so was desperate to stick close to Hamilton, stupidly assuming that Hamilton would do the exact same thing again. When Hamilton stayed at the same speed instead of accelerating away (which is his right to do as he backs up the pack), Vettel ran into the back of him.

Apparently Vettel can't tell the difference between a car coming towards him, and him driving into another car. Vettel then decides it's okay to overtake the leading car under a yellow flag, and smash his car into the lead car. He should have be disqualified for that alone, before even considering the other two infractions.

Enjoyed that.

The rage Hamilton's title rival each season causes this forum amuses me greatly but accident or not that was a black flag for Vettel today.

A few more accidents like that this season and some proper bitterness between the two would be most welcome though.

I said this would happen, the love was all back for Vettel when he wasn't a challenger, now he's back to public enemy no1. 100% Vettels fault a rookie error but let's not try and make out Hamilton hasn't gotten away with being a cheating **** on occasion.

It is the lead drivers right to control the pace.

There's no denying Ham slowed at the corner but it is Vettels job to avoid punting him up the arse.

Didn't the rules change a few years back after an incident with Button slowing the pack? Sketchy memory of it.

Anyway Vettel should just apologise for a rookie mistake, then we would have been spared Hamilton trying to act the hard man when he's about as tough as tissue paper.

"If he wants to prove he's a man, we should do it out of the car face-to-face. Driving dangerously in any way can put another driver at risk.

"Luckily we were going slow. If we were going fast it could have been a lot worse. Imagine all the kids watching Formula 1 today and see that kind of behaviour from a four-time world champion. It says it all."

Hilarious stuff from Hamilton and equally pathetic that Vettel couldn't just hold his hands up.

Hamilton definatly milked it for everything it was worth in the post race interviews.
Im sure he really is having a laugh about it, funny to take the super high ground when you know someone is in the wrong.

I gave that a generous 5/10. Sadly they acted like a bunch of amateurs today and not like the worlds best drivers that they are supposed to be. Loads of crashes and just downright **** poor driving do not make a good race.

Shocker as difficult track with difficult conditions throws a spanner in the works.

F1 is meant to be hard, and tracks like these prove the point and make racing interesting again.

Always amusing reading the gross over reactions in these threads. Vettels behaviour was a disgrace but it was just a little bump. The 10 second stop and go during the race was deserved, but he could probably do with a 5 place grid penalty too.

That's what Maldonado got for a much worse incident.

Didn't really watch the after race stuff but I saw a woman from sky sports asking vettell about the collision (clearly meaning the side swipe) and he just commented about the rear ending, as if he never did such a thing as purposely ram another driver

Bloke's a great driver but truly more of an A hole than probably anyone else can be.

Hamilton was not penalised. The stewards examined data from his car and found that he had maintained a more or less constant speed, had not lifted off the throttle or braked, and had behaved no differently at that restart at that point on the track than at the other two restarts.

Hamilton appeared not to accelerate out of Turn 15, the penultimate corner, and Vettel hit him up the back, damaging the Ferrari's front wing and part of the Mercedes' floor.

Vettel then pulled alongside Hamilton and swerved into him, banging wheels.

This is what makes f1 goat, they all would stab there granny in the back just to get one more point or place over that other guy/team mate :E
