** European League Thread (Spain/Germany/France etc) **

Sociedad had a 1-0 lead from a penalty, conceded a penalty, ended up drawing with bottom of the table. Miserable performance, no support in attack, no tempo. Sociedad's successful 3-4 seasons were based on counter attacking at break neck speed, support in attack, smart interplay and in general focusing on scoring. Moyes is turning them into a pile of defensively minded turgid crap.

Commentator banging on and on about how Moyes has turned them around.... while saying Granada, bottom of the table, were outplaying them, with no irony. This also was ignoring that they started the year with Vela injured, had Europa cup to deal with and in the past month obviously europe ends up on the back burner and a couple players back from injury while also having a hugely skewed set of teams to play with only 2 games against the top half and I think 4 or 5 now from the bottom 5 basically and they still dropped way way too many points.

Barca vs Atletico, 1-0 and VERY fiesty so far, similar atmosphere to an el classico in that there have been a lot of dodgy tackles and Neymar taking a nasty studs tackle to his ankle which was bleeding a fair amount.

DM, I get the impression you don't like David Moyes?

He's making one of the most exciting teams in La LIga(not best, but exciting) pretty god awful to watch... which shouldn't be surprising but still frustrating. When you see even Fat Sam being somewhat forced to playing attacking football making a team that is so much more watchable this year and Moyes pretty much ending up fired for being way to negative at Utd... you hope a manager would learn. Even more so if he was joining a team with such a mentality.

Just saw that Pogba goal finally, nice, though almost his trademark style of goal I would say. He does hit them damn nicely from that range.

EDIT_ Now Messi decided to kick the ball to one side and jump and throw an elbow at a player the other way. He gets away with so much crap, in this game he could already be off, refs are so crap.

He scored another 1/2 volleys against Napoli, one of them with the ball on the floor too. Flicked it up and shot.

Juve lucky there, looked to me like Buffon came out and it was his jump that made him land into the Napoli player which caused him to drop the ball there rather than the player intentionally jumping into Buffon. Think they got very very lucky with that decision.

EDIT:- Atletico get a penalty, a very very soft penalty but maybe ref looking to even things up as the second goal shouldn't have been given. Some more cards, more tackles, more players complaining. Wouldn't be surprised if a couple of red cards were handed out in this game. Can the goal actually get Atletico into the game, they were barely in it up to this point.

really nice goal by Vidal, good hit into the top corner. Atletico should maybe have a goal, they got a good break with a ball in behind the defence only needing the right ball with loads of space but the cross went in too close to the keeper.

Also, Messi, somewhat nasty looking on the keeper there, flying kick where you could claim he went for the ball but he basically did a flying kick, straightened his leg out and showed his studs at head height and he even seemed to aim his foot at the keeper.

He really should have been red carded by now, finally got a yellow for that but certainly should have one for the hand ball leading to the second goal and probably should have got one for the elbow.

:D

Christ this game just has me thinking dm will be furious at every turn. Suarez and Messi with goals and assists and Messi could've been sent off 2 times already :D

Neymar does have incredibly quick feet.

The diving in La Liga drives me insane though although it's worse when it's Ramos and Pepe diving around shortly after elbowing or kicking someone themselves.
