** European League Thread (Spain/Germany/France etc) **

Neymar wasn't impressive in his first season but he was coming from a different culture and he is pretty young. A lot of other brazillians/south americans do a year or two in portugal, france, Holland so maybe we don't often see their first year at a top club that often. But he also had, I forget what now, bad tonsillitis, had to have them removed and dropped a stone in weight or something in preseason so he was under weight, not fighting fit and trying to adapt.

He has seriously seriously stepped up his game this year. He had his moments last year but very rarely threatened consistently from game to game or even throughout a single game. This year he looks stronger, faster, sharper. I think he would probably have been closer to current form without the illness during preseason last year.

Tonight wasn't his best game but was still effective and a constant menace with his pace and movement. Last year it was hard to see value in his price nor the idea that people thought he could be as good as Messi/Ronaldo in the future, off this seasons performances you can certainly see that possibility.

Thought if Real got another before HT it may have been possible but I can't see them scoring 3, Atletico look so solid at the back even when inviting so much pressure.

The defending for the Ramos goal was hilarious, keeper stays standing in the goal, Ramos doesn't score. Instead he runs out and runs into his own defender no where near the ball really and takes himself out.

Real have dominated just a touch but would still be difficult to score 3 goals in one half.

Ronaldo is so good in the air, still time, feel like it could be an epic half though.

Defensively has anyone seen Kroos do anything yet? A midfield of Isco, Kroos and James is just stupid. ALl well and good needing goals, but a defensive midfielder to pay more attention to a couple of strikers on the break.

Another goal for Ronaldo, great set up play from Benzema again and earlier in the move from Ronaldo. Several times Benzema has got along the byline and beaten players and cut the ball back finding a Real player from his pass in a shooting position. Real not been good enough in general but probably will open up more now.

EDIT:- yup, second followed soon after, Bale makes it 2-0.

Ronaldo makes it 3-0, fantastic cross from James who also put in a great ball for Bale's goal. Good header, simple but he got it right and his movement as always is brilliant but the cross had to be pretty much perfect to go over the first defender and drop in behind for Ronaldo.
