** European League Thread (Spain/Germany/France etc) **

So Inter under Mancini are now slipping further and further down the table. Torino have had a couple big results and AC are also dropping.

AC game is on now, 1-1 at half time with Parma, at home to bottom of the league and AC are still struggling. Inter are 13th now and AC even with this current 1 point from a draw are only 1 point ahead in 12th.

Don't think Mancini or Inzaghi will keep their jobs for long. From what I can recall Mancini won a bunch of Serie A titles when half the other teams were basically relegated or docked points for fixing games, he sucked in europe but had the best team by a mile due to the other clubs having lost points/players over the whole incident. He went to City, sucked in Europe but by outspending everyone in europe managed to get a league title while most of the other teams were getting worse, then got fired the next year. Went to turkey, even sucked in turkey, went back to Inter in a competitive version of the league and is sucking back in Italy. So does anyone else think Mancini just always sucked completely?

Barca were losing 0-1 at home to Villareal, but they managed an equaliser right before half time.

Milan got early goal in second half and Villareal just took the lead against Barca, fantastic break away, huge huge mistake from Pique again on the half way line let Giovanni run down the wing waited, waited, pulled the ball across the box and someone finished it off. Great goal.

yeah, balls, they had a couple more chances but so did Barca. It was a decent match and Villareal certainly put up a good fight. Oh well.

Milan won 3-1 as well but it was against Parma who are rock bottom, moved them up a few places but their form is dismal. Inter 13th and AC without looking I think might have jumped up to 9th or so, unfortunately they can't play Parma every week. So want to see Inzaghi fired.

Ouch, I thought it looked like fairly serious problem for Vela, rather like Bojan he seems to have jarred his knee in a way to screw the ligaments, surgery and out for the season. He was by a country mile Sociedad's best player and only consistent goal scorer. Now I'm genuinely worried about Sociedad. Though should have some cash in the bank though to bring in a striker but will Moyes bring in the right one, and not ruin him like he has every other striker.

Also a part of me thinks this was pretty much RVP's situation again. Vela hurt his knee a couple times this season, he missed a game then was rushed back in, MOyes leaves him on till basically injury time, then does it again even though he was limping off the pitch then plays him likely when he needed protecting instead. Plays him because it's Real Madrid... but he had zero chance of beating them away from home, it didn't matter if Vela played but now he's lost him for the season. Playing someone nursing an injury to the point he misses half the season. Moyes really doesn't like ex Arsenal strikers :(

With Vela they were only 4 points above the relegation zone, without him I think the next highest scorer has 2 or maybe 3 goals. Sociedad somewhat brought this on themselves, manager turns around the team, gets them playing great football, gets them competing with Atletico/Real/Barca in terms of actually beating/drawing with them and making the games tough(not competing in terms of for a top three spot) then he wants two years rather than a one year new deal.... they refuse and he goes off elsewhere. Fact is that guy wouldn't be getting a wage anything like what Moyes is probably getting, completely insane to let the manager leave because he wanted more than a one year contract.

Everyone who ever played for him? It's pretty much a running joke that every in form striker he buys ends up not being able to score for crap after joining. More recent examples, Naismith. Yakubu was an expensive buy, joined with form, good first 6 months, less good second 6 months, terrible second, third and fourth season. Saha got worse and worse while he was there. Beattie, I don't know, just about any high scoring player he ever bought or at least good shots/goals ratio striker seemed to go to Everton and see their goals dry up within a year, maybe two.

Bayern drew at home tonight after getting thumped by Wolfsburg at the weekend. Wolfsburg draw away from home, not that I think they have a real hope in hell of winning the title but with Bayern giving up points they had a chance to get back within 6 points.

What the hell has happened to Dortmund? They weren't that over reliant on Lewandowski were they? Looking at their team they should easily be in the top 5 or so. Being bottom of the league going into the second half of the season was unimaginable 6 months ago.

They were over reliant on Lewandowski, just a whole cluster of injuries over an 18 month period(I think most are back now) but everyone just dropped out of form, during the injury hit period which was basically all of last year they definitely got bailed out a lot by Lewandowski. Now they just don't seem to be able to get the goals. They scored I think two offside goals, just nothing clicking for them. Statistically there are like 3 teams in the league that have taken 100 more shots than they've conceded against them, IE it's a pretty big sign of being the better attacking team. Likewise statistically a lot of those shots are from within the area, they are good chances. Just 18 months of some major injury problems and everyone being out of form and then when everyone is out of form it's harder for any single player to get back to form.

IE take someone who missed a year with a serious injury and put them in a side playing great and he'll get back to form quicker, the pressure is off, others will score in games, no worries in the league and the player desperate to score will not be as pressured. A few bad weeks, starting off low down the league and being under deep pressure, it's really a position these players haven't been in. If Lewandowski was there he'd probably have got a decent number of goals, finished up plenty of the games, they'd be at worst mid table and the team would be playing better more relaxed football.

it's not good, they aren't playing well and Klopp hasn't managed to get a handle on it. If they can get a couple of wins, even if entirely flukey, you'd probably see them jump into decent form and shoot up the table. Genuinely worried they might end up relegated at this rate though.

Here's a video after tonight's loss of their goalie and Hummells trying to calm down their fans. Even Klopp looks at a loss.

You think with, Reus, Kagawa, Aubemayang (sp), Hummells etc you'd have a pretty decent starting line up.
Absolutely everything must be going against them. Hope they turn it around.

Be interesting to see what they do in the Champs league!

It really is shocking just how far Dortmund have fallen in the Bundesliga this season, absolutely shocking. They are doing well in the CL but I really fear for them, sat at the bottom and in real danger of being relegated which would be terrible for them.

Not sure if the team has lost all confidence in Klopp or they just havent got a bit of lady luck on their side.

Love Klopp but this isnt doing him any favours, pretty much said he wont be resigning but he could very well get sacked.

Dortmund still have a great team on paper so if they can stay up they could be back to form next season. If they win a few games they will move up the table quite easily I imagine.

What happened for the first goal? My .... 'tv' got stuck for a couple of minutes. Early lead for Atletico though Real have the points advantage to be able to lose this game and still be a few points ahead of Atletico, and still be ahead of Barca if they win tomorrow.

Ramos is supposed to be out for 5 weeks now and James for at least two months it seems. They got two early injuries in the last game and Bale took a knock though played on.

Wow, 2-0, Real not starting this game well at all.

Dortmund go in 1-0 up at half time, come on Klopp, they need a win sooo badly.
