Basically

A 16 year old who will be in the front a lot of the time as im at work, she's of to sixth form, and two 5 year old twins in outer rears. Once in a while we ride in the family car as a fam and the 16 year old needs to be center rear but its rare

I'm still tossing up the benefits of something like this Vs the Ohme smart cable charger.
 
I was looking at a Zoe until I noticed they wanted £50 a month for battery lease. LOL. Any savings from fuel and car tax completely wiped out. No wonder it's still sitting unsold at the dealers.

An old second hand one then? Since new ones don't have battery lease anymore, and even the old ones can be bought outright from RCI, you don't have to actually keep the lease.
 
I've had a quote including bluelight discount for the Hypervolt at £665.

I'm still toying with the idea of the Ohme smart charger deal with Octopus and installing the command socket but at £665 I struggle to see why I would consider any other?
 
It depends if you have any consideration around how the unit looks.

The Ohme doesn’t really deal with its cable mess very well, the hypervolt does but it’s lights can be a bit much.

Zappi has more proven functionality but its exterior looks like it was designed by an engineer rather than a designer so it’s very functional but a bit ugly.

Anderson ticks all boxes with the exception of price, prepare to bend over is all I can say.
 
Just read an article on the Tesla 2.
Next couple of years there will be batteries for 50% the cost offering a decent amount more power/range?
 
You need to apply the appropriate amount of salt with any battery and Tesla related rumours.

Sure the cells will be better and cheaper but 50% cheaper is considerable. At the end of the day, the entire globe is cell limited for EV and battery storage products. When these new higher density cells come out, they'll just use less of them in each product to get a similar result as they do now but they'll be able to build more products with them.

I really can't see the Tesla hatchback having more range/power than the Model 3 does now.
 
Possibly but that isn't a given. Cheaper to make sure but that may not translate into a lower price for you to buy and they could choose to take more profit instead. It depends what the competition is doing.

I'm fairly sure the Model Y has gone up in price by around $2000 in the last year or so.
 
Every driver is going to have to adjust to faster response off the line, it will just be the norm. Teenagers will be teenagers, and a percentage will end up in a wall, not sure there's much anyone can do about that!
 
Nissan announcements today about UK battery production - UK sourced lithium is way in the future - & even if we get it from liz truss's best buddies,
will the end cost makes them cheaper going into europe than importing the battery from china - I guess it's Huawei type decision, we need our strategic manufacturing, for this commodity.
