Everquest combine progresive server beta

Dont forget to post your character name and what time you will play and we can get together and form a guild or something :cool:
 
This sounds like a cool idea apart from when you factor in the insane MMORPG freaks that will just play all day every day until all the expansions are unlocked. So unless they put in time delays somehow then it won't take long before it ends up like every other server.

If you want to keep up with the progression wave then it'll require taking part in the level race which will involve sitting at your computer all day, preferably on a potty-chair. Exploring is time wasted, stopping to chat is xp lost, communicating with the family member shouting in your ear is an unacceptable delay. The level race also makes people play like ******** becase they can't really get ahead by helping others.

Course this is just my cynical view of it. I think it still could be good fun with a nice group of people. But I expect it'll be ruined by a less nice group of people. I'm still gonna try it though :)

Hey that sounds like how I used to play EQ :p Apart from the being horrible to people bit but I was a bit obsessed at one point.
 
I'm on the beta server as Meeka, troll shaman. Only level 4 because me and a mate have been messing around and reliving memories :o
I'll hopefully be joining an European guild called Shadowed once we're established. :)

Well if I can get in the beta I'll more than likely be a Half Elf Rogue as I was in the past.
 
I'm going to end up with so many alts I think :o
Last time I played I ended up with a level 63 Troll Shaman, level 45 Iksar Monk, a cleric I used to play for raids, an ogre Shadow Knight I power levelled while 2boxing, and besides that I still like playing Druids and Necros :o

Started up some characters there, Monkhouse and Whitely, but spent all my time setting up my UI and generally remembering wtf I'm doing.

Haly, have I spotted your app on a progressive euro guilds forum? Was checking out what kind of euro presence there will be on that server and that guild sounds quite cool.

Oh might as well ask, is everyone else getting the old character models? I swear I got the new ones the first time I logged in but since then it has been the old ******* ones.
 
Yup applied there earlier as some old guildmates are already there :) What a small virtual world we live in :D

And yeah got the old character models here too.
 
:( I cannot seem to get into the beta, I re-subscribed on wed and it says this..

I have sent the customer support an email

Probably will not get a answer for ages and a generic response grrrrr

I will cancel my subscription if this does not get fixed.

It says provisional active on it what does that mean?
 
Hi,

Their login servers are swamped - best way to get a fast resolution is go to their help pages and follow the link to live chat - I dug out an old account to try this beta out and couldn't get online with it - went online and their live support techs sorted it in minutes.

BTW I'll be online either as Lexden, Lanash or Dinalt - depending which class I choose to play in the beta - my main was a wizard couple of hundred days /played with about 400 AA but I gave up playing after the level limit went to 70

Going to play a human SK once it goes live, too much RL stuff on the go for the beta at the moment.

Edit - aw, they're making it PvP. Zek was a cesspit back in the day, don't think I'll relive that particular bit of EQ history :(

Signed up both my accounts, none of mine have any active SoE subscriptions but I got into the beta with them both.

Now I'm trying to find my flipping EQ1 Origional CD! found every expansion CD so far..... :(

If you mean just Zek that wasn't really 'back in the day' :p That's nearly current news for EQ.
They're not making it PvP anyway. Just some whiney diehard PvPers moaning about wanting to make it PvP on the forums.
Nearest to pvp will be the books you can hand in to priests of discords but that's going to be a minority.

If i remember right each expansion includes the original EQ aswell :)


I saw this server, looks very interesting, sadly i dont think ill be trying it, i just got into EQ2 and their isnt room for 2 mmorpgs :)
