It will be an internal Tory party coup, and I suspect the man in waiting is David Davis.

Yes this could happen, you can see some factions starting to build on twitter already.

I'm a geologist. I don't see a problem with fracking if it's done well (aside from our reliance on fossil fuels generally). Most of the problems that have been associated with it are due to it having been poorly planned / designed and badly implemented.

I like many of Labour's policies but as for banning fracking outright - not so much.

Agreed, the scaremongering over this is quite annoying. I interviewed a green party candidate for my channel last week and brought up some counterpoints to anti-fracking and he didn't have an answer to them.

I voted for"new labour" back in 97, bloody regret that now, Blair ruined the country.
It's no longer the country I grew up in.

Of course it's not. We have smartphones and flatscreen TVs and decent Mexican food now.

It's impossible to stand still without stagnating.

Who's going to start a vote f no confidence though, and who subsequently would want to stand for party leader?

All the big names made it clear they weren't interested last time after it became apparent it would be career ending (Boris for example :p). Perhaps a rerun of the last time, with even less people wanting to dtand? Some random backbencher looking to make a name for themselves?

Agreed they will let her do brexit and then take her out. That way they can put all the blame on the EU and the weak and wobbly May as after all you weren't voting for your local MP or the Conservatives this election, it was a vote for May

Just voted about an hour ago. Nowhere near as busy as last year for the referendum, though a bit of queue had developed when I was leaving. I'm going to estimate turnout at around 55-60%. No sign of the security mentioned on the news at some polling stations...

You're basing national turnout on spending 5 minutes at your polling station and comparing it to the referendum vote?

A 60% turnout would be a huge decline and shock compared to recent trends. A 55% turnout would see nearly 5 million fewer voters than 2015.

My local primary school is due to lose over a million pounds of funding per year in real terms if the Conservatives win tonight. Pretty much resigned to it happening. :(

Yep, I have done a lot of work over the last few years in the education sector. Those who work in it know how bad the cuts have been. Drastic doesn't come close.
Lots of colleges are in financial ruin. Making staff redundant, closing courses. The government just says they need to merge with other colleges. Beyond belief!

I don't really know anyone that works in the public sector but a colleague's wife works in social services and apparently half of them lost their jobs in two years - pretty much making visits half as often... in her own words.

It's not easy to spot if it doesn't affect you I suppose.

Lots of students out in Bristol for pre-election drinks. The majority look well set for 'one more drink won't hurt - oh look, it is 10.05. Still there's always next time'

Based on a sample size of about 100.

At the rate they're going I'd be surprised if they can hold a pen, let alone place a cross in their desired box! I think I'm just getting old - 10 beers and shots on a Thursday?!

I remember after that poor little boy was murdered (daniel pelka), the head of social services said they were under staffed and couldn't cope.

I am in much the same boat. I voted Conservative because of my MP (you know, what we should be voting for Mrs May...) but my seat is safe Tory anyway. Haven't even seen any campaigning around here except "Vote Conservative" signs.

We really need a new central party. Something like New Labour again really.

Nee Labour were a right wing party. Labour under Corbyn is actually the most central mainstream party the UK have had in some time. The problem is the UK recently is used to right-wing or far-right, now they have extreme-right and centralist.
