Sorry I wasn't clear enough. If you cut spending on sub tenders, reduced yard maintenance budgets and sub overhaul budgets the current fleet would still exist but be unable to maintain 24/7/365 at sea coverage. Tantamount to a unilateral disarmament. Stop servicing your car it soon becomes not road worthy. Stop maintiaining you nuclear sub it soon won't pass its regulatory tests.

So the DUP wanted £50m per vote in the commons but have settled for a £1b lump sum. So when the the Welsh and Scottish get extra money?

well done May you have actually succeeded in being a bigger **** up and wretched pile of scum than Gordon brown.

i think the issue is with current subs even 365 coverage is comprimised due to the advances of other nations.

nothing to do with maintenance etc, but that they rely soley on being near undetectable.

Is there an official sum anywhere. I'm sure there is a deal like this but at the moment I dont see anything official

News outlets all reporting its a fixed one billion lump sum deal. Still disgusting that they are paying a billion pounds to shore up the government,

Actual figures released and there you go, its cost us £1.5B to keep maybot :(

No change to triple lock or winter fuel payment

Stupidly the DUP normally votes with the Tories anyway. So they didn't need to pay them. Even with this deal it wont take many Tories rebelling to stop a vote going through.

What we need now is a bus with a picture of Theresa May on it.

"I spent £1.5B desperately trying to cling onto power. Let's spend it on the NHS instead"

It's only a suggestion though. Not saying we'd definitely spend it on the NHS.

They have agreed to:

  • Keeping the triple lock for pensions
  • Keeping winter fuel payments for all pensioners
  • Keeping defence spending at 2% of GDP
  • Extending the armed forces covenant to Northern Ireland
There is also a financial package, she says. It is worth £1bn over two years. There will also be “new flexibilities” in terms of how £500m already committed to Northern Ireland can be spent, she says.

  • Northern Ireland to get an extra £1bn over two years as a result of the deal, Foster says.
No wonder she has a silly cheesy grin on her face. Does this mean with the new flexibilities the £1.5b can be spent on Green Biomass schemes?
