Hmm NI has not asked for a lot considering their possition. 1bn isn't much when your talking national finances.

That's after wasting the UK government £600 million with their scammy RHI thing, no double £400 million that they are obliged to pay is also coming out of this.

For me the scary part of this (other than the amount of cash its costing) is this paragraph.

Working Arrangements

In furtherance to these arrangements, the Government and the DUP will worth together to ensure the necessary support can be established by both parties to fulfil these arrangements. A co-ordination committee will be convened for this purpose, chaired by the Government. The parties will agree the modus operandi of this committee. The Northern Ireland Secretary will not sit on this committee.

That to me goes beyond a support arrangement and suggests that the DUP will actually be involved in policy making at Westminster.

Considering that the term 'magic money tree's was sprouted around during the election... And then may telling a nurse there is not enough money' ... 1bn is a lot.

I can imagine a lot of people getting annoyed about this.

"I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? Brexit. Corbyn. Terrorists. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you and in your panic, you turned to the now DUP leader Arlene Foster. She promised you majority. She promised you votes. And all she demanded in return was £1bn."

A representative of the monarch, its currently James Brokenshire.

nah, Cabinet minister

the monarch's representatives in various areas of the UK are Lord Lieutenants

oh christ so an imparital person who should absolutley be involved?

Not impartial at all he's a Conservative minister, the other poster has muddled things by referring to him as a representative of the monarch. The govt probably want to keep him off the committee partly to try and make him seen as impartial as possible with regards to Northern Ireland I'd guess.

one of the most tragically accurate posts i've seen.

i live i na safe labor seat so my vote made no difference.

but i feel cheated, i feel gut punched.

if the DUP have the slightest impact on LGBT rights because of this then sadly i will say it's something i deserve.

not others, but personally. i chose this, unknowingly and ignorantly, but i chose this.

Green says the government has found the money because it has run the economy properly. Other parts of the UK have benefited from city deals, he says

So they have done so in the last 3 weeks but not before May's "no magic money tree"?

Well he is a representative of the monarch but yes answers to parliament and on is appointed on the recommendation of the Government. That's only from wiki though, I had no idea who it was before I looked.

Him being omitted from the committee though isn't what bothers me :P
