There will be plenty once parliament starts proper. Today has shown how fragile it all is and I would fully expect some very uncomfortable votes coming.

Yes very uncomfortable lol

"A cross-party amendment led by the Labour former business secretary Chuka Umunna calling for the Government to set out proposals for the UK to remain within the customs union and single market was defeated by 322 votes to 101, a majority of 221."

To be fair, the opposition amendment to the Queen' speech was only voted down by 323 votes to 297 - a majority of 26.

Sheathed because for now none of them want to upset the cart before the Queens speech vote and sheathed for amendments only because they know the perceived impact of losing a vote. Just look at today's announcement from Justine Greening regarding NHS access to abortion services for NI women in the UK. It was known that 40+ Tory MP's would vote against their own party, they knew they would lose that so backed down.

Also they know there's a very good chance that whoever take leadership of the tory party will lose the next election & they'd rather not have that on their C.V.

It would appear some Tories abstained or voted the other way, if we remove the speaker/Sinn Fein and we assume all of DUP voted with Government, they are down 4.

That's dangerous for the Tories.

Wish i knew the record of voting, as i don't know the make up of the Nay vote...

Just a few Tories need to be ill and some others to abstain which I think will happen on some of the issues over the next few months.

Minority Governments don't ever last. Look at John Major for inspiration (who by the way condemned the DUP deal).

I'd still like somebody to explain why May couldn't have just not talked to the DUP as they would have voted with her anyway.
