Not got around to playing with the memory to be honest. Was concentrating on getting the CPU overclock stable in time because as usual, I left everything until the last minute :o
 
I cheated with my girlfriends one.

I bought DDR500 memory and just upped the BIOS to 250FSB. If it was mine I'd watercool it to so I can up the voltage to the CPU a little more and the NB and get it stable at a much higher FSB. But the requirement was stability and quietness, so that criteria was met with the Freezer 64 Pro combined with the NF4 Auto fan speed control :D

All in all a very very nice system for photoshop and games.
 
Luckily this one clocks pretty high and stable on air.

I will be getting phase sometime in the next couple of months then it can look out :D
 
I found the the NB requires a little more voltage to get any higher. It's already at 40C so I don't really fancy it, not with the small heatsink and fan.

Anywho time for bed...

I might try that when I get a chance.
I stuck it up a notch but I might push it a little further to try to get it stable higher. NB temp only in the mid 30s so far so she'll take a little more methinks - will probably wait until after the foldathon though.

In my defence I havent actually tried to overclock so dont know how far it will go. :p

Damn you Rich i was hoping to have the cheapest machine. :( ;)

Im also the only one with 2 machines, come on somebody get another machine on the case!

hehe - well it's certainly the cheapest but with the work I've got so far it's only just topping 90ppd :o
And I can't get any extra by running extra clients and such :p

Like I said before I will be adding another machine for the second week - it'll still be socketA but at least it'll be a decent clocking one on a good motherboard :cool:
 
Right. I'm off in about half an hour until a week on Sunday.

I probably won't be about much between now and then.

The competition rig seems to be working splendidly at 2800 so it will be left at that and fingers will be crossed :p

All the rigs folding under my account seem to be fine too but they always work fine when I'm home (without any intervention), they seem to wait until I've left before they start to play up :rolleyes:

I'll try to pop in when I can to see what's happening.

If someone wants to use my spreadsheet to make some sort of a league table then be my guest - I'd do it myself if I were going to be at home idle.

Oh noes, I had to power down my main fleet for a while to identify a cruncher that was rattling like mad. Found it. Found a fan had come a bit loose inside and fixed that. Replaced another fan. Removed a few dustbunnies and back on within an hour. :)
 
I just finished my first ever F@H WU on my x2 4400, the only problem is its been replaced by a 53 pointer which has an ETA of over 5 days!! :(

Another couple of hours and my xeon will have finished its first WU too.

if it stays at 5 days after a few frames have completed then something is seriously wrong
